You know, I could have sworn that Seoulstar never said such a thing. So, why are you putting words in their mouth?
Completely agree with the OP - on a side note - as a BLM, i really miss all of my Defensive cross class abilities that i once had as a Thaumaturge in 1.0. As a lvl 60, all i have is Physick to heal? Practically useless. I can only give Eye for an Eye, & Apocatastisis, 2 buffs to a fellow part member? Why can a SMN raise, but I can't? DD jobs could use more Defensive abilities, or cures, particularly BLM.
She's talking about not being judged by her dps, and you treating it like they deserve to be thrown out onto the street were it not for the devs.
Come on, you have to realize there is something off about this, especially outside of the raid tier, with a fair chunk of the forums claiming to be Alice in Wonderland's White Rabbit. I bet if this type of homogenization existed in another game, like say, Guild Wars 2, we would be quick to call it out as a problem SE should avoid in the future.

This... was pretty much spot on.
I've always felt that, when playing a healing role, or a tanking role, if I'm doing really well.. I can pop into Cleric's or Sword or Deliverance for a little while, and just pummel the enemies. There are even situations, and abilities that allow this, that negate me even needing to go back into the healing / defensive stance when things go bad.
I mean, sure, as a healer I can stand there, and maintain 100% HP on everyone in my party 2.47s after they get hit and do nothing else, but... it's really slow.
As a tank, I can sit in Tank Stance, generate enmity til the DPS and Healers may as well not have an enmity gauge, and keep their stoneskins from ever wearing off but... it's really boring, and makes me feel like I'm wasting the bottom half of my health gauge by never visiting it.
toosh glamour gets my upvote!I don't care what anyone says about the current dps meta for end game because we all know that the real end game is about that glamour.... I just hope SE gives us a huge toosh glamour... this flat butt hurts when I sit... I need a nice cushion to sit on while I wait 2 hours for an expert que to pop in df...
The main argument is healers CAN DPS when able, emphasis on able. The issue is raid mentality on pushing out MAD DEEPS is spilling onto mainstream content where not only it's not really all that needed, but people who aren't exactly skilled enough to stance dance properly and try to anyway (whether due to peer pressure or just conforming) and cause wipes, which also means all that precious 5 minutes everyone was trying to save has been added to their time spent and then some. It's nearly the same endless debate on whether or not tanks should pull entire rooms for the sake of saving a few minutes.
I live by this rule: If you can DPS and heal, go ahead. You can't? No biggie. I'm not in such a hurry that I'm going to pop an artery for not getting my 40 eso tomes that much sooner.
I don't really find wipes to be a big deal, I hardly see it happen anyway. If they do and it's because the healer is trying to improve their game then it's not a huge deal. It makes me really happy to see players try to put some effort into learning new things even in easier content, better than a dps payer just spamming heavy shot over and over. The issue is raid mentality on pushing out MAD DEEPS is spilling onto mainstream content where not only it's not really all that needed, but people who aren't exactly skilled enough to stance dance properly and try to anyway (whether due to peer pressure or just conforming) and cause wipes, which also means all that precious 5 minutes everyone was trying to save has been added to their time spent and then some. .
If a wipe does happen though I would recommend they try again a little later though once they got more of a grasp on how the dungeon/trial damage plays out.

That's exactly it. It's really not a huge deal if healers don't DPS all the time and it's cool if they make an attempt to anyway. People are so allergic to the concept of wiping that it's either "git gud" or don't join the party.I don't really find wipes to be a big deal, I hardly see it happen anyway. Players that do their best to maximize their role potential tend to get fast ex primal clears and efficient farms. Players that embrace mediocrity tend to be unable to clear anything without the good players and wipe 15 times during farm runs. I know what side I'd rather be on, but by all means embrace mediocrity and cuddle each other to feel good about yourselves. Just don't go making posts about how pf sucks because the people that join perform at 30-50% role potential.

When it comes down to the tank and healer getting into a shouting match of who's not doing their job, I'm on the side that just pulls to silence them.
Way to oversimplify things, I guess. C for effort.
