It is possible to adjust heal and threat modifiers you know.
Yea I use to love tanking in 2.0 especially with War and the only reason was because there was a lot you can do with WAR. Don't get me wrong PLD was damn good in 2.0 but I found it kind of bland. But in the current state with how people view healers and tanks now I don't even want to touch my tank or healer classes. Everyone want everyone in the group to dps... and that's kind of dumb. Look at DF when you que up its either 1 tank, 1 healer and 2 DPS or 1 or 2 tanks, 2 healers and 4 or 5 DPS.... So if I want to just dps I que up as freaked DPS if I just want to tank I que up as TANK....
Bloody hate the current Meta in FFXIV... BURN BURN BURN through everything with no time to enjoy the scenery. I have yet to stop and enjoy how beautiful the new dungeons look because the tank and dps's are just to much in a freaken hurry to blow through the dungeon. I finally had a chance to look around tonight when the tank went afk for 2 mins.... The new dungeons are breath taking and the devs really went all out but nobody seems to give 2 craps about it. Seriously what is up with the current player base. Slow the hell down and let people ENJOY the dungeon. Show a little gratitude to the designers who spent a lot of time to create some of the best dungeons to date both in mechanics and scenery.

Having cleared AS3 week 2 before esoteric weapons, there is no way they didn't tune it without tank and healer dps in mind at entry level ilvls. If your whole team is i200+ then maybe, but at entry gear levels, your tanks and healers have to go ham or you die to the enrage guaranteed.
I don't want to jump to conclusions, but... what if they actually tried to lock players from clears before they gear up? Not the best idea ever, but it kinda makes sense.Having cleared AS3 week 2 before esoteric weapons, there is no way they didn't tune it without tank and healer dps in mind at entry level ilvls. Yes, this, I think this is an issue. The raids are balanced at a higher ilvl than leading edge groups have when they get tgere, but instead of gearing, people are so impatient that they try to circumvent the difficulty by getting everyone to DPS. That's fine, but what highly skilled teams do in a race to be first has become the norm, and so people are attempting to clear things significantly before the balance point for their gear is reached.
Now I have an idea, what they made a raid where it is impossible to clear at any gear level released at the same time as the raid...when everyone in the raid DPSes the boss. Then being much more manageable when the Tanks do less DPS then the other people and the Healers don;t DPS at all...
essentially a raid that punishes Tanks and Healers for DPSing, perhaps they can even have the mechanics be named after varitous terms for impatience to drive the point home

GW2 style break bars on bosses doesnt seem like the worst idea. (a meter that depletes when the boss is cced resulting in the boss being stunned for a few seconds. then the meter takes some time to replenish so it cant be chain stunned) if we're talkin bout alternate mechanics besides super high dps checks.
Every class to my knowledge has some sort of cc
Why wouldn't you demand from other jobs to try and to their best in HARDCORE CONTENT (this is not ment for those healers in roulette pressing a button every 5 secs to use a heal because they don't dps so they are afk half of the dungeon waiting for the tank to get hit).
Imagine now DPS's complaining about having to do mechanics because it lowers their dps and they need to focus on it.
If you don't like trying to push your job to the limit why are you even doing Hardcore.
People are just upset now because they can't get carried anymore, because lets be honest even if As3 had a low DPS check almost the same amount of people wouldn't beat the fight because of mechanics. But now they have the DPS check as an excuse.
Rose-Wild I hope you are joking because that is no where near the truth. In just about every dungeon I play the tanks like to pull 2 to 3 sets of adds. The healer is not afk during that time not even close. Also, healers and tanks main role is heal and tank... simple as that. Tanks job is to keep the bulk of the damage away from the group and its the healers job to keep the tank alive. All dps need to do is freaken dps and pop a utility if needed. If your group can't win because of dps checks then slow down and gear up. Don't be salty...
BTW throwing more dps down the line as a healer or tank doesn't make you are a better player... All that means is you should just role as dps if all you care about is DPS. Doing your job makes you a better player.
I enjoy tanking so I can laugh at the boss because I know the healers got my back. I like to heal because I enjoy keeping everyone alive. Sometimes I throw a some DOTs down range when the tank is rotating their mitigation skills properly but I refuse to go all out as healer because I need to be focused on the tanks health bar.
To each there own but as I said before if all everyone cares about is dps then role as a dps. This whole thing about tanks and healers having to stance dance all the time is just stupid... Granted there are times when I tank and pop my dps stance while the boss is charging up and not hitting me. So i'll stance dance to help with the dps checks but other than that I'll stay in my tank stance.

Were numbers invented or discovered? How many Moogles does it take to make Kuponut rum? Answer: zero... They will give you a quest to make it.
I hope you are the one joking. How would knowing when you can push dps and when not to overheal or stay in tanking stance for no reason doesn't make you a better player?
Who's being salty about dps checks? I can tell you it's not me since i'm actually defending them and my group isn't having issues with them.
They actually already took the feedback from people about not wanting dps checks and made the dps check on Thordan ex really low so with decent dps you skip a big part of the fight. The content in this game is already way too easy besides savage i can't believe people even want that to go away.
