Viera can be different from Miqo'te.

Well, I think that the woman should be bigger/taller/stronger then the men. Opposite of Au'Ra.

I wouldn't mind more of a furry humanoid race which wouldn't be too hard to make armor models for, where the faces are longer or more bunny-like.

I'd love a race that didn't consist of bad proportioned bodies, and tiny cardboard butts. I'd love this race, with better proportional bodies, and they can edit the race to not look like everything else.

Well, if we continue to ask for Viera. Square Enix will have to consider them, it's what the players want. Not to mention, back before 2.0, they did a poll and people reacted favorably to the concept of a race like the Viera, in fact they name dropped them and believed it influenced the votes heavily.

And instead of Viera, we got Au Ra that are simply japanese girls with horns and scales, and they look almost exactly like Miqo'te. People clearly wanted Viera, so why not give them it? They added other things for blatant fan service like Cloud's outfit and all that. Viera could at least be written into lore.

unfair because it show how much people did loved this race more than ronsos or vangaa? probably. but in the end, it did show how much player did wanted this race to be added. that was the goal of the vote, no?

But not everyone wants Viera (and judging the likes on the first post, it's a massive minority of the forum community who wants them) and I'm sure quite a few (or perhaps a lot) players playing this game aren't a fan of blatant fan service.

Don't get me wrong, I still hate the Au Ra and think SE could have done better (the concept art for Au Ra's, especially for the females, were far better than the end result). If Viera were added into the game, I am 100% certain they will look nothing like their concept art (and finalised art. Male Au Ra for reference) and instead look more similar to one/two of the current races.

Not everybody wanted the Au Ra either, but it's not like we can't have both or more. The entire point of expansions is to add new jobs and races to invoke hype and appreciation!

The real reasons we don't want Viera is because the dev team couldn't/wouldn't do it and then some.
1. They couldn't do the ears, they said in an interview.
2. The heels were problematic.
3. Yoshida has wanted a lizard-like race prior to 2.0 when he mentioned it during the Viera poll debacle.
4. They wanted to make something "original".

Edit: Also, don't use the forums to gauge whether or not a minority wants something, this is merely one of many threads about Viera that have happened over the months and years of FF 14.

I don't really think a beast race would be suited or proper for the game. However, I wouldn't mind more of a furry humanoid race, which would really suit the game and wouldn't be too hard to make armor models for.

Those who say Viera look like Elezen with bunny ears are silly. Their bodies and faces are completely different, where elezen have a kind of caved in face the Viera have a completely pushed out face.

Instead of a "beast" we can have a more animal look to them like this.



A mix between both of these, where the faces are longer or more bunny-like.

I would absolutly love to play a race which looks like this. I hope SE will consider it for the next expansion, a lot of people ask for it and I think a race with actually fur is something ffxiv is missing, and those would be perfect.
