
so you just want to see words put over your head telling you that you dodged when you didnt press a damn button?......lameYup. Games like X-2, XII and XIII may have had the characters doing these sort of actiony movements in battle, but the OP should realise that these were simply automated character animations implemented for dodging and attacking. It has the exact same effect as just dodging by the word "DODGE" appearing above your stationary character's head. My point? Adding this sort of stuff to the game would add nothing beneficial - it's simply aesthetic. That's if these animations are automated.
If the animations are controlled by the player by player input (which I think is what the OP wants!) then that's even worst! You might argue character immersion, I argue battle convolution.

Uh no, that's not what I said. I said that seeing the word DODGE appear when you dodge an attack is the exact same effect as your character doing an automated somersault animation when you dodge an attack - the only difference is that doing a somersault looks prettier.

why would you want it automated? why not you do the summersault
