To each their own. I personally don't care. I mean we get to wear the Best Man's Tuxedo, Thavnairian Bolero and Gambler's Coat sets, seems only fair right?

What where you expecting opening a thread with a male wearing a dress, 100% support lol
If pigs can really fly, I wouldn't care about anything else!!!
Yes, there was speculation, due to how it was only shown worn by male NPCs in the trailer/preview. And the 'correction' Terrini posted was -- I believe -- more directed at the "they're not related at all" thing. In the Gold Saucer preview, those two outfits are shown pretty much one after the other, and are the only featured Gold Saucer outfits that I remember (I might be wrong, though), and just like how they showed off the female and male Thavnairian outfits in close succession in the HW preview, it kind of suggests they are intended to be "equivalents" -- something that's clearly out of balance when it comes to the Gambler/Bunny combo, I certainly agree with that, but it doesn't really change the fact that there's no other outfits that could be considered to be equivalents. Even if you put them separately, you have one Unisex outfit and one Female-only outfit. *shrugs*
(Also, I could be wrong, but I think the two preview images, with the Gambler outfit shown on a femroe, were in the same dev blog post? If there was one. It's getting way late and my brain is starting to protest staying up ^^; )
Aaanyway, the list isn't purely a female/male outfit list. It's more a list of "these outfits were released: female outfit and "male" outfit -- usually the only other outfit released that patch, or the only other outfit without a clear equivalent.
And I'll stop rambling now before I confuse myself and others too much ^^;
Your question is almost just rhetorical like that ^^°
It is about fantasy, shaping the character ...
I personally love that belly dancer, fortune teller, desert beauty (YES, MALE desert beauty!) vibe this special piece of glamour has.
... and ONLY this piece has it! The unisex 'male version' of this hasn't the same feeling to it at all. It would work more for a merchant than it works for an untouchable Au Ra Astrologian T__T
I helped myself out a bit for now but is isn't really satisfying to use the same chest piece over and over and over again ~_~
I need to stop thinking about how good he would look with it >____<###

It'll never stop surprising me how close minded some people are. Because a man wearing long fabric draped around his waist is OH NO RUN FOR THE HILLS. Give me a break. With the kinds of outfits male characters have worn in the Final Fantasy series, with all the clothing that is acceptable for men to wear all over the world, for some reason people are still so close minded that they think they need to ridicule a "male" not dressing "manly" enough.
You guys are so backwards and you don't even get it, people in here are saying "men shouldn't wear female "defined" things period" and I'm sure those people would have been the people how many years ago to stomp their foot down and tell ladies to start acting like ladies and dressing like ladies instead of wanting to wear "manly" pants, or show off their skin, get back in your corsets and dresses and don't you dare show off your shoulders or your arms, or your legs. In fact, take off that manly armor and stop trying to wield a sword and get back to needlepoint in your dress like a proper girl should be doing.
What you wear does not define who you are, and it doesn't define if you are a man or a woman, it doesn't define if you are manly or feminine. Nothing in itself is specifically male or specifically female, unlike what some people in here have said, you're just so stuck in conceptions that you think are yours but actually aren't yours, and unlike the women in time who fought for equality, you can't even think for yourself. A "skirt" isn't a part of female identity anymore than pants are for a man.
I do wish all of you would have gone up to a Roman soldier or a Celtic warrior and told him he's dressed like a girl in that skirt and he's cringe worthy and why would he ever want to wear that because you don't find it attractive and your eyes are burning, really.

Loincloth is totally what I want for all my DoMI can't find any good Loincloth other than I should join Flame to wear it...

I remember when my character was male how I would like to be able to wear a lot of the female exclusive items, mostly because they just fit his character and I felt he'd look lovely in those items.
Giving more options is a benefit, people who whine about the inclusion of other options for other players they themselves don't have to partake in shouldn't be considered.
Thanks for this. It means a lot to hear from a rational perspective every once in a while.
