Honestly, in my case, the biggest problem on the matter of having a majority active group is the bug where you're not being considered a part of your groups contribution. Just like with normal S ranks in The Hunt, if there are too many people in the area, contribution for people who attack after X amount of others have DOES NOT COUNT. The game doesn't even consider you in-combat. There's no threat generation or anything (the mob does not show up in the target list like it normally would). I can use a melee attack and fly away immediately after. I can heal in OOC MP regen state. I just won't get ANY credit, nor will my group for any damage contribution I did. Same for anyone in the group that runs into that same problem.Yes there are cases where you have 5,6, or even in rare cases 7/8 doing battle and getting absolutely 0 credit for Star hunts or lvl 5 hunts even. This is due to multiple reasons such as : afk, gathering, disconnected( player not returning), trolling, etc.
Which is why premade groups are preferred for this type of content, however even in rare cases in PF you will see such nonsense.
In the case of the topic of gathering, and speaking as a gatherer of all 3 types, it really is an underhanded/unfair thing to do right off the bat after getting flight. I mean, there's a reason why you have to be a combat class/job to even queue. When it comes to the frequency of seeing gatherers and AFKers, where does that leave the 2-4 players who actually want to get credit for the combat portion? I've had NUMEROUS groups where 2-3 AFK and 2-3 gatherers would show up. I'd say an average of 3 players in a group are of one of the two. This isn't even including bad DPS. Where does that leave those people wanting to participate in the primary part of Diadem? Unlike gathering, you can't exactly reliably obtain credit for stuff without others. Sure, you could try to pull and, if you're a healer, regen yourself to get the claim before anyone else does as you fly around, but even that is still unreliable overall compared to people actually participating. So what are they to do? Suck it up and leave to eat the 30min wait because people are assholes? I guess that's what it has come to. It's actually funny in its own way how vocal "gatherers" have become about their right to gather and being oppressed for it, when they're actually forcing a form of oppression upon others.

Just drop party, regroup back all the people besides the AFKers and DOLers?

SE just have to remove diadem from the duty finder. they wanted an old MMO feeling in the diadem. part of the old MMO feeling was you could not act like an asshole without consequences. consequences like never finding a group again.

This is my basic gripe with the Duty Finder being cross-server as a whole, nevermind just this specific instance.
The sum of all hunt arguments over early pullers: http://goo.gl/IFT9IE
This is a reasonable request. I support this idea!
Also I will say if they are unwilling to do this then maybe they can rethink how to award groups loot instead of based on damage. It sucks for groups who want to battle and aren't getting credit because they have a few gatherers. They should drastically lower the dps requirements and in order to make it seem like gatherers aren't leeching, don't allow them to roll on items they did not participate in combat to win. In return chests unearthed by gatherers should only be distributed among gathering classes.

- Base the damage requirements for kill credit for mobs on the number of DoW/M in the party.
- Disallow DoL/H from rolling on DoW/M gear drops.
- Allow DoL treasure chest contents to go only to DoL classes.
DoL problems solved.
______________________________________________________________________________________________________
- Flag DoW/M who have not contributed damage or effective healing (healing a max-health target does not count) while in combat within the past 5 minutes.
- Flag DoL who have not gathered from a node or a fishing spot within the past 5 minutes.
- Flag DoH as soon as the player switches to one.
- Remove the flag if the above conditions which caused the flag are no longer met.
- Allow any flagged player to be vote-kicked. No vote-kick cooldown.
- If the entire group is flagged, disallow the vote-kick option entirely.
AFK problems solved, with restrictions in place to minimize abuse.

Only problem with that is you cant do a thing to the gather in the df if they don't agree to the rest of the parties terms. They can vote all they want and I can just ignore them and continue gathering, they can even leave and I still wont be moved by it, I'd just have less players nagging me. If it was a party finder made party specialized in monster farming then I'd have no choice or I'd be considered griefing.I'd say if you're using DF then you should follow the majority vote of your current party. Also, nothing is really stopping DoL from gathering every now and then, but they should help out their party if they need it and not roll on loot they didn't contribute towards.
Note that your argument regarding DoW/DoM using PF if they just want to grind is EXACTLY the same argument that can be used for DoL who go into the Diadem to gather. It doesn't matter what your goal is... If you can't accept other people's goals (gathering vs. combat or vice versa), then make a PF specifying what you want.
That's why it more important for those players to use pf. If your saying it'd be courteous for gatherers to use pf then that'd be true. I for one would help the party if they ask me to help during a star monster fight. I wouldn't even roll for 210 items, unless you ask like a complete @#$%head then I'm ignoring you and laughing my way to riches lol
