Given how bishounen Aymeric is, I think we can call that canon...

Urianger too, is far more handsome than his hood and mask would suggest. Moenbryda saw him without it once, and the rest is history.

He isn't 'gay', if anything he would be bisexual since he acts the same to female characters. To be even more clear, he is Adventuro-sexual meaning he gets 'excited' for adventurers. If you read the translated Japanese, he says things like (paraphrasing):

This is actually fact. It's the last moogle sidequest in Mog Home that tells it.

As for my theories, I say that Elidibus is Future/AU Us and is trying to tell Urainge the info they figured out to late last time and is secretly undermining the Black Robe Ascians at every turn even going as far as to repurpose the Warriors of Darkness from Nebraulius and Lahabrea who destroyed the world last time.

Also, the PTSD theory when combined with the Echo is almost a lore explanation for the Duty finder. PTSD + Echo means Literally re living the encounter. (But due to continuously worsening mental insanity we can never remember who exactly was with us when it happened.)

The Dzemael's are responsible for every bad thing ever. Of all time. In fact, I think the start of the Dzemael line was the result of a drunken night between an Allagan and Ascian. Up to this point, the Allagan, the Ascians, Hydelien, Zodiarc, Midgardsomr, everyone all lived together in peace. Then that was born and everyone started arguing about what to do with it. "Feed it to Bahamut," was thrown around and then things just escalated to where they are today.
