Participate in your servers economy. Level a gatherer, by far easiest way to make money without money. Everytime you swing your main/off hand, you have essentially made some amount of money. Find stuff that's low on your server and sell it. The money balance in this game is great for everything other than housing.

Use the level 1 bait. This way all you get is the merlthor goby, the mooch.

This, like 99% of the concepts here are not true faucets though. They assume and rely on the idea other people have money they are willing to part with. True faucets are very rare in FF14 and usually involve grind on a monumental level unlike any I have ever seen. It's why bots have a monopoly on Gil. Use high level raw Jewelry stones as a prime example. Raw Opal vendors for 155 Gil so a 99 stack is 15,345. 100 stacks is 1,534,500 Gil but ask yourself who is going to mine 100 stacks of Raw Opal? A bot of course. There are better per hr faucets but they are finite and require substantial time. High end leve quests can pay very well. You get so many though, then they need to recover. Similar to dungeon drops, you will find the hourly is very low.

The long and the short of it is, Gil is in short supply for most of us. It's by design and I haven't quite figured out the SE motive. Though to be honest, I don't understand a lot of their attempts to control aspects of the game the way they do.

You are aware of the fact that you just want to remove a bunch of classes and change the whole gear-symstem...?

Also: With HW they already made some adjustments to crafters so you wont need all of them at max level - and while you totally want some skills (Byregots Blessing...) you dont need ALL your classes at 50 or even 60 since you can work out a rotation that will fit your skills - just as you level up certain classes for your DOW/M. And yes, leves are limited - but why do you need everything at 50 NOW? It took me months to level up all my crafters... also: GC-turn ins and, once you hit 50, Rowena will give you a decent amount of exp aswell. You can also already make money by gathering low(er) level items for exp (silver ore comes to mind...). I'm not saying the current system is perfect! I am saying though that its highly unlikely that they will remove current classes or make them obsolete by adding others.

So... First suggestion: Currently we've got spirit bounding (and, as I explained earlier: should the next relic step involve materia... ürices will rise) - if we were to give away gear, those wont be possible anymore. So, would it be just specific gear that wont bind? And why would I want to buy ilvl210 from the market board if I can get the ilvl110 and level it up myself? While I sort of like the idea that you can get gear that levels with you... selling it doesnt sound like a good idea to me - and it would destroy the economy because no one would buy leveling gear anymore...

Second suggestion: I already talked about that - I really, really hope that SE doesnt decide to just remove classes from the game, like you suggested... Every crafter is serving its purpose right now, there is nothing wrong with this - specially not from SEs point of view: Ofc they want us to level mulitiple classes and ofc they want us to spend a lot of time (and money!) on this.

Third suggestion: As much as I would like more player interaction... this does sound a bit ambitious... I'm playing for about 2 years now and I dont believe you can get such a thing to work... specially not to make money from it. A lot of it will only cause bad behavior between players... or, on the other hand, it will end up like materia melding today: Everyone does it on their own... beside that: I dont wanna make money that way. I cant, even. I cant sit around all day&night to see if my service is required and I dont believe that thats a good idea after all... what you suggesting would work fine if an NPC would take care of that (even then... we will never see a designer to swap gearparts around and we do have a glamour/dye-system already... and I prefer to do that on my own rather than having someone right next to me being like "Soooo... have you picked a color finally? I gotta go raid in 5 minutes!")

To be fair: I dont say that those ideas are bad - I just dont see how they would fit into the game without changing a lot of stuff around with no good reason, granted it might be a good reason for someone who doesnt like the current ways of getting money - but those are plenty: farming mats as DOW/M, gatherer; crafting; selling expensive rare drops; propably even selling clears; just doing quests/leves for some coins; sending out your retainers and sell what they bring back...
But mostly crafting, probadly, thats correct - but, as you already noticed yourself: You dont need a lot of money in this game... unless its for vanity - like the house you desire... (grats that there are even free spots on your server left!)

You can't level them up quickly and cheaply without leves, but you can make money leveling them slowly by making stuff. Ingots, lumber, cloth, furniture - find the ones that sell fast, make those, and sell them.

This is where the RMT bots control the market, unless the stuff sells for so little that it doesn't matter. That was one of the huge problems with materia.

Again, making everything easy enough for anyone is a bad idea. This is like saying "I don't like savage raids because they are hard and take too much effort. Nerf the old ones and stop making new content that hard."

They're nice thoughts but not viable as income sources in the game.
-Who would you train? Newbies with little gil.
    -Designer screams PS3 limitations
-Your Specialist sounds like a non-battle class in dungeons, I can't imagine spending half an hour just to open up a couple side passages

If you want to make gil in this game, level crafting and gathering classes, and compete in the market, that's where the big monies are. :P

Consider leveling a gatherer. Many new FCs are creating airships and darksteel ore on all servers are selling quite well.

If you are trying to make money just by using a DOM/DOW class, then find out what type of skins are selling high on the marketplace and go farming for several minutes. Or you could farm the EX primals for their rare crafting item drop and sell that for several millions to hold you over for a long time.

My retainers bring me things to sell and I make money (I have 8 retainers). I really hope someone buys that Kingly Whisker fast...

Another (slow but really good once it takes off) money making method is to sell scrip mats. Not only you can use laws, you can also use brass spoils from diadem(only 8 each!) to acquire them.

All depend on the server you are on and demand for items.

some server have more gil there other. As for balmung. If I want to make gil I could. But beside a house. Which I'm never going to get on balmung. There is really no need to have lots of gil
