    Warrior, whats your best advice?

I have not played war since 1.x. I got both it and pld to 50 and was on war a lot to farm but never did much tanking.

Haven't touched in yet in 2.0 and have been hesitant to do so since its at 50, I have no idea how it works and I do not want to be one of those people that just joins a pt without a clue about how their job functions. No interest at all in pld or drk.

What's the best piece of advice you could give for a war basically starting at 50.

As long as you're holding hate in dungeons and using defensive cooldowns appropriately, the rest is gravy. You have plenty of time to re-familiarize yourself with the class as you level and learn how to incorporate the new skills into your gameplay. Honestly, the way that it plays doesn't even change all that much till you get Fell Cleave at level 54. Your best bet is to look over the tooltips for your skills. If you aren't confident enough to do a dungeon at first, go run some FATEs and take a stab at holding hate. Nobody really cares if you can hold aggro at a FATE (with the possible exception of NM FATEs) so if you mess up it's no big deal.

I'm at WAR level 46 now. Just out of curiosity, how does the job change with Fell Cleave?

It serves as a major step in lining up playing in Defiance with playing out of Defiance. In both cases you will now be building and spending stacks. Combined with the stacks switching with your current stance, it ends up making Warrior easier to play than it used to be.

In all actuality, though, all Fell Cleave does is trick Warriors into thinking they're DPS. In the middle of a Job Quest chain that's trying to tell them to focus on Protecting instead of Destroying XD

My best advice is : wreck shit but don't forget your tankiness. Get STR, stance-dance, but use your motherfucking defensive cooldowns accordingly, otherwise you're not worthy of the Axe. Be a Warrior.

    Some advices :

WAR has different very good synergies between offensive and defensive abilities in his kit to increase both his tankiness AND his DPS at the same time without sacrificing anything. Read all the tooltips and figure these synergies out. I also highly recommend you to check out Xenosys Vex's guide which is full of very good and reliable informations about the job and how to properly play it. He also speaks about the different synergies in the video.

    Basic advices :

    - Keep Maim & Storm's Eye up as a priority. Use Storm's Path only if you feel that you need the 10% mitigation. Butcher's Block is both your highest damage combo AND your threat combo, so you can very easily hold aggro while doing your highest single target DPS rotation in Deliverance (Alternating Storm's Eye and Butcher's Block).

    - Use and refresh Fracture. The trait makes it pretty powerful on WAR.

    - If you need very heavy mitigation for whatever reason, don't rely on Foresight alone. It's garbage. 20% Physical defense is not 20% damage reduction at all.

    - Don't keep your stacks, the passive bonus they give is absolute garbage compared to what spending them grants you. The only GCDs where you can keep your 5 stacks without DPS loss are GCDs that don't grant stacks (Heavy Swing, Fracture, Overpower). It's then a benefit. (Refreshing Fracture with 5 Abandon stacks or using Heavy Swing with 5 Abandon stacks right before spending them on Fell Cleave and continuing your combo are both a DPS increase in the case you got your 5th stack with a combo-ender only, for example).

    - Bloodbath has the exact same cooldown as Berserk. Always use them together.

    Edit :

Destroying your enemies before they can do any form of harm to you or your friends is the best way to protect.

Another question for all the awesome warriors out there: How do you set up your hot bars when playing on controller?

Do you have one bar for tank stance and a totally different (but almost identical save a few skills) DPS stance, and a third for defensive cool downs?

No, I use a macro that swaps defiance and deliverance skills. I also recently started using extended cross hotbars which is a great time saver though it takes some getting used to

Not if performing the task requires that you make yourself easier to kill.

In regards to dpsing as a warrior, I was doing 951 dps on a 3 minute parse at ilvl 190 so don't be surprised to see yourself topping parses as OT

My advice to fresh 50 warriors: run dungeons. Run lots and lots of dungeons. Get to know all your cooldowns so well you can combo in your sleep. Know what all your mitigation does. Figure out the best way to spend your stacks depending on different encounters and party composition. Just really get to know all your skills and cooldowns on a muscle memory level. And it only gets more fun after 50!
