Punish DOL and Afker's in Diadem

Can you join as DoL? No you cant. So no it wasn't designed for someone to gather the entire time. The ONLY reason you can gather is because they thought DoL would add some flavour to the objectives

I'm pretty sure that's because that's the way Duty Finder works, you need to be DoW or DoM, can't be DoL or DoH.
(it may not be in the duty finder menu but all instances go through it, even the solo MSQ instances; it's still the "duty finder server" or what have you)

yes, because they did not earn that loot. I don't get their nodes or fish so why should they get the loot of a kill i worked for?

Gathering do respawn hidden chests and is also able to trigger star mobs.

I do not think a botanist can participate in a star level mob and contribute enough to help proc the gold chest.

But the star mob could spawn because of their efforts, same as you.

I think your rage is more "My way is faster by default and therefore they're making it take longer with their slower method by not helping with what I want do"

exactly they like to complain because they can complain.. if they wanna keep QwQ all SE have to do is make it so only people who are currently DoW/DoM classes at the time of loot drop can roll on loot from mobs and only those who are DoL class will randomly get the stuff found from gathering classe chests ignoring the other peeps who are DoW/DoM but then im sure some1 will complain they cant leech n get free materials to throw on market board lol

The loot chances from a DoL is significantly smaller than the loot of a combat class. I would gladly let you have your loot know that I kept mine.

Unfortunately, it drops to random people in the party and you can't trade in instances.

How often do those drop if you don't mind me asking? I've seen one or two drop by the hands of a gatherer in a 90 minute time period, and it wasn't even a gold chest. If it means people who don't contribute don't get access to chests from killing monsters, I'd be more than glad to pass on those few useless chests and I'm sure everyone else shares the same sentiment. Of course they weren't gathering the entire time, but it's still a very low chance from what I can tell.

Every single item gathered at nodes should be put up for lotting for the entire party as well. This is a group effort after all, RIGHT?

As I said, I'd be fine with those shards going to the person who did the gathering. How much shards was it? I know they're practically worthless, sure in bulk but that doesn't matter when they're rare. Whereas 8 tokens could get you a crafting material that goes for 40-70,000 gil after you've obtained the Pegasus (assuming you were after that).
