No that is ridiculous to punish gatherers in this zone. You should however be able to kick AFK or member who clearly don't participate in anything and just loot on items though.

Or you could go with a premade party of friends like it was intended.
Heck even making a party finder and laying out your own ground rules is better than duty finder. Why would anybody want to duty find diadem?
They are paticpateing. Gatherers also find chests and fulfill objectives.... just like you?
I'm all for adding a separate queue for diadem gatherers. One that locks us out of combat classes but let's us fly right at the beginning and allows stealth to work how it's supposed to as a trade off.
Why not use this for interesting new content ideas?
Why not have gathering and crafting parties? Something like this would be incredible in my opinion.
That would be very nice.
I do not think a botanist can participate in a star level mob and contribute enough to help proc the gold chest.
Can you join as DoL? No you cant. So no it wasn't designed for someone to gather the entire time. The ONLY reason you can gather is because they thought DoL would add some flavour to the objectivesI'm not against that idea. but really, they made the diadem so folks could do both. If you dont like it then make a PF group and SPECIFY what you are after (ie. Combat or gathering)
Most of the people on DoL that I have seen were trying to complete objectives to get ESO before swapping back to a combat class.
wonder if you complain about the loot you get free from when a DoL class finds a nice little treasure chest... no??? yeah didnt think so lol
