Retainers and a ... function

i don't know about anyone else but don't you get tired of sifting through all the tabs
trying to find that one allusive item that you need for some craft?

You can use the "search for item"(or something similar) function when you craft... It tells you exactly how many items you have (the one you are searching) and in which retainer inventory tab it is..
Just chose an item from crafting log/gathering log/market board and right click to select the search...

Or you meant crafting without manually getting the item from your retainer?

He's not talking about searching for stored items, but using the same feature in order to locate the exact Hunting Venture that sends your retainer for gathering the item you're looking for.

open the gathering log, search for the item, see what level it is, send the retainer out in that level categorie.
