I just hope they plan on adding more specialist recipes to balance it out a bit. I specialize in ALC and CUL, which got ONE recipe each lol XD
Just seems a bit weird that some crafts got one recipe, while others got a mitful

Depends on what you consider balance. Alchemy will probably get a "mandatory for all 3 star crafts" item in 3.2 you'll still only get like 1 recipe but well that's been alchemy the whole time
Colluding with other crafters? Gasp. Say it isn't so. Oh wait no that's what you're SUPPOSED TO GODDAMN BE DOING.
Holy shit it's a multiplayer game, people. Step out of your box.
How about, everyone is a greedy and won't do you any favour and such without it costing you a bucket load, and certainly not any make-believe agreement crap that you got in your head. There is no "I scratch your back" malarkey here, if you have somehow gotten that, you are a very rare exception, especially if it's off some rando crafter guy that you just happened to have talked to because "it's a multiplayer game".
It's a greedy world. Step out of your bubble.
The specialist system is garbage, it's not needed and it doesn't serve its actual original purpose. The point was so you can level just one or whatever cla... blah blah, it doesn't matter as it didn't help, you still need all the old cross class stuff anyway, and to be blunt, if YOU can't be bothered to put in the time and effort to get all crafting classes to 50 when that was the cap, then YOU don't deserve the benefits of that self-sufficient luxury, nor the bonus of having a wider range of stuff to craft. You don't deserve... wait for it, nothing, as you didn't put in the effort and time to reach that level.
If it did what it was meant to, then cool beans, but it doesn't... it gives some crappy skills, and now locks you out of the "no limits, go as far as YOU want to" approach they preached for so long until they implemented this system disguised as a "benefit" to those unwilling to level stuff.
It's an MMO. Step out and level.

Having an FC is not a rare exception at all. Even less so is buying materials off the market board. Titanium-alloy ingots and pterodactyl leather are only about 50k over cost on my server. How about, everyone is a greedy and won't do you any favour and such without it costing you a bucket load, and certainly not any make-believe agreement crap that you got in your head. I'm not sure you understand what purpose gil and the market board have in an MMO. Like it or not, any time you buy or sell anything you are doing exactly that. You're scratching someone else's back. The gil simply entitles you to an equivalent scratch from some other crafter. Welcome to the economy.
I suffer from extreme social anxiety disorder. ARR was absolutely lovely for me in that I could group up with people when I felt ready, but could also solo it when I didn't feel up to it. HW just crapped all over that, and so did you.
ARR was a hugely solo-friendly game. Run Satasasha and see a whole world open up. HW is FFXIII - a tiny corridor that has to be run. ARR and HW are two completely different games.
I had my friends make me a bunch of ingots and silk for free. It's fun to help each other. :<
Not everyone has access to this. Only two members of my FC craft at all. No one else enjoys it. And while I do encourage new members to craft if they like it(by helping to supply mats, etc), I can't force people to do things they don't want to do. Not every single thing needs to have a social aspect. It's great if you already have peopple who simply enjoy crafting and help you out without expecting large sums of money, but it isn't that way for everyone. When is forced interaction ever a good thing? prices are going to go the extreme route for those of us who don't have huge FCs full of crafters or randos in a linkshell who are willing to give us a "discount". And in ARR that was perfectly fine, we could make it on our own without it. But now this whole "forced cooperation" nonsense is making this game less and less enjoyable for many people.
Congratulations, you aren't the main crafter in an FC, double congratulations on having those members on 24/7 for you to get help from at any hour, triple congratulations on being able to take them with you should you end up moving servers etc etc etc. Buying the materials off the market is not an issue, that's fine, that's also not the point being discussed here, it's that the old alternative was that you could make the item, any item, any class if you was able to, and now you can't as you're limited to three classes that have access to all of them.Having an FC is not a rare exception at all. Again, buying off the MB is not an issue, nor is buying a craft of specialist items off someone... I'm not sure you understand what the point of this thread is.
Make it possible to get all specialist stones and not just three, those wanting to be like the good old days through time investment and effort are happy, and those that want themselves limited to only three complete lists are too. It's no different to Master Book stages, only as of right now the dev's are saying you can't have more than three books, if you want a new one then enjoy your effort and time spent going bye bye.

I swear to Thal, DoW and DoM are already limited enough by locking us down to 5 cross skills and cutting off more than half the cross skill trees, If they limit my options an more I'll PK Yoshi-P myself.
