Viera are from Ivalice, and they have always been solely from Ivalice. Ivalice is not on Hydalin.

One thing that would help, would be adding a Racial Abilities that mattered.

This is what we call a bad idea.

Square-Enix has managed to avoid the trap of racial abilities and having to balance or design around it quite well, let's not encourage them to take a huge step backwards.

If they do add Viera, I can imagine them being the "idealized" elf (but with rabbit ears): tall, lean and beautiful without that haughtiness.

Elezen has the emotes that I would expect, but they're just so weirdly designed/ proportioned. Even 11's Elvaan's seemed better proportioned:

Buny people reminder, also we would need a good male viera model to fit the viera thing. Lore states that veira is a full female only race.....miqote changed so why not veira too?

Actually, in Ivalice Lore, there are male Viera, but male and female Viera live separately and only meet up for procreational purposes. Due to their long lifespans (Fran left her village over 50 years ago, which both her older and younger sisters remembers, which means that despite all three looking to be between 18ish-30ish, they're older than those 50 years) I assume it doesn't happen very often. We just happened to play in the part of the world closest to a female village.

Their long lifespans would also set them apart from the other races, since it seems to be even longer than the Elezen (who are only "somewhat extended lifespan in comparison to the Hyur" in comparison). At least from a Lore and story-telling perspective.

I think SE are creative enough to work out ways in which the Viera (or whatever name they decide to give them) could be implemented and avoid looking too much like a Hyur with bunny ears.

I'm also hoping we can get a race with taller women, since they're pretty short regardless of what race you pick. Hopefully we could get some stronger female choices? Fran from FFXII was pretty cool imo.

I've been wanting a Viera race included in FFXIV for nearly a year and have been silently hoping they'd appear one day. They could easily be included in FFXIV and I really love the artwork FFXIV team made of them! THIS.MUST.HAPPEN!!! *U*
