There's something that's been bugging me.

1.0 players, what dialogue changed with your encounter with derplander? More importantly, does the story now treat 1.0 as addendum to derplander and friends, or are you still Hydaelyn's favorite WoL ?

Also, krile mentions she had the blessing of light to thank for saving her. Does this mean the Echo and the blessing are no longer two different buffs (which would make Krile a WoL like you, and not just an echo bearer like Ysayle)?

We had the Echo when we didn't have the Blessing (eg, understanding Nabriales, resisting Primal tempering, understanding Moogles, resonance and viewing memories) so they aren't entirely the same. I think Krile is mistaken in putting them all under one big blanket of the same abilities, unreliable narrator and such, because if they were the same "buff," as you put it, we'd have lost the Echo when Midgardsormr shrouded the Blessing, and we clearly didn't.

Yeah, it's expected, but I'm still disappointed. All HW did was hit the reset button and I can't say I'm fond of it. I'd have liked something a bit more lasting, I suppose.

I enjoyed the patch but my heart melted into a puddle of goo when Edmont said "You remind me of Hauchefant. I don't want to lose another son." to Aymeric. T_T I already have massive feels about Aymeric (though seriously he probably shouldn't have gone off storming a dungeon after getting shanked) But to hear that, after knowing how much of a giant dick his real dad was? MY HEART.

Ive had a odd thought. What if the place Nidhogg has disappeared to isn't him heading to Azys Lla but rather linked to what lies under Silvertear Lake? They did say we would learn this expansion what exactly Midgarsormr was guarding.

Him having both eyes back would be a huge game changer for him. It likely has given him options he never has had open to him before.

I don't know if they changed is his dialog again but talking to him in the Waking Sands, Urianger says something about the doom of the world being foretold in Divine Chronicles but it that is truly the unchangeable fate of the world then our struggle to fight against that fate is set too. I don't think Urianger is going to turn on us though I think he may play along with Elidibus for some time. Really, we need to find out what the Ascians know cause currently the Scions are locked in a struggle with them without knowing all the details of that struggle.

The Ascians seem to believe their way is the only true way to save the world and from the mocking way the WoD called us the 'Savior' of Eorzea, I suspect they have convinced him of it too. I have my doubts.

Yea, I went to check there earlier and I don't remember him saying that before( it was usually primal related) So it may possible be a huge hint.

I expected more from the Warrior of Darkness they kinda just appeared and then left saying "We are the Warriors of Darkness blah blah" the scions talk a little about it then back to Ishgard ... Thancred looks awesome now love his new threads. I am just getting more and more confused with Elidibus and whats his face (cant spell his name lol). Also i was a bit sad that the main story was kinda short . I would love if SE could do what SWTOR is doing by doing monthly story updates. Krile having the Echo surprised me and caught me off guard. Bit sad how they are bring all the scions back makes the ending of 2.55 pretty lackluster now and feels like there was really no need for it.

The whole point of killing them off was likely because the VAs contacts expired and try probably weren't planning to bring them back. So it's easier to just kill them

That scene was actually tear-jerking for me in another way: Edmont was saying that right in earshot of his eldest son, Atoriel. I mentally went, 'Um, hello? What's Atoriel then? He's RIGHT there you know.'

I do agree with other posters here that the intent of that scene was less Edmont's (admittedly heartwarming) sense of kinship with Aymeric, and more the fact that he was ignoring Atoriel, his *actual* son. It's pretty damn clear by now that Haurchefant was the favorite of Edmont's sons, despite being a bastard. Which also explains a good deal of Atoriel's resentment towards him. (And has a few other unpleasant implications.) Upon closer examination of the whole thing, I suspect something in the Fortempts family is going to boil over before the 3.x story is done.

(But I should re-iterate that I don't believe Atoriel is going to be evil. Or turn on us. What I said earlier about his actions seeming in line with his character development still stands.)

That's...actually not as farfetched as it might seem at first glance. After all, as we saw in one of our Echo visions after defeating Nidhogg, the four knights who would become the founders of what are now the four High Houses originally intended to simply be 'stewards' of the city-state until a new king emerged (since Haldrath effectively abdicated and went off to fight dragons for the rest of his life). Which naturally brings up the question of how Ishgard evolved into the theocracy it is today, with the archbishop heading the city.

But it also brought up a tantalizing plot thread. That Ishgard, to grow as a whole, needs not a new archbishop, but a king to fill the throne long left empty by Haldrath. The whole system with the church and the archbishop, again, was never the intent of the knights. I didn't consider Aymeric though, but that would make a lot of sense.

Technically, all native Ishgardians are of noble descent, so without a royal family anyone could become king. Or queen.

(Seriously, I wouldn't mind if Aymeric became king. He's a reasonable, just, and steadfast character.)
