Tanks know they are bad if they can't maintain hate. Healers know they are bad if they can't heal tank. DPS know they are better... when dungeons are a little slower? Put some DPS checks in earlier in the game and divide the party so the DPS in question (and others) will know if they are doing their job poorly.
    3. Create more drops for tanks (again incentive to play the tank class)
    4. Special mounts for completing x number of raids/dungeons with adventure in need bonus.
    They've tried that, tanks and healers just get told to do more DPS. They need to put buffs on the monsters that means they're immune to ALL damage from tanks (GLA/PLD/MRD/WAR/DRK, yes I've included the base classes to avoid the playerbase saying "Do this as your base class") as well as healers (CNJ/WHM/ACN/SCH/AST, included ACN to avoid SCHs being told to queue as their DPS base class to ensure they can do damage). That combined with strict DPS checks will mean the DPS cannot blame the healers or tanks for lack of DPS.

    As I'm sure you are well aware, it takes more than one person to be able to kick a player from a duty, so in all those instances there were at least two people agreeing they'd be better off without you tanking.

    I kinda like my ability to hold hate, though. Not to mention the ability to build my tank toward DPS.

    On the other hand, Paladin wouldn't be behind for AoE threat anymore.
