Not true if you PF and go in with a premade for Ishgard you can need stuff, did it the other day everyone kept needing stuff changing jobs to switch what they were needing on because some guy wasn't on X job.

Yeah, no. Had a fisher who never fought anything beyond what was required to unlock flying lot and win on the i210 drop for my main job. He's over there gathering, and he doesn't depend on the group to fish. Every fight without people there fighting is more and more of an uphill battle with people off gathering. If he can nab i210 stuff from people on the job that can use it that are out there actually fighting, we should be getting more of their harvested items.

Personally, I wouldn't even mind if every time something is harvested, it randomly goes to one of the party members instead of straight to the gatherer just in the interest of fairness.

Not true. Full premade can roll Need on items for their class even if you depart from Ishgard.

Because the content was designed around full premades either from FCs or friends/LS members, so it is expected that everyone will agree ahead of time on loot. Which is why Need is not enabled in PUGs in this content. Right?
