Is it unreasonable to seek people at the part of a fight as you are?

Don't go in thinking it as leading. State that it's a blind run, if someone gives tips take em, and just chill. I wasn't really giving any orders until we wiped a few times and started formulating a strategy. Someone else could have chimed in instead of me though and give suggestions.

9/10 times, when I join a learning party, I have to step up as a leader - because others wont' really try to lead. When people are put under a situation that requires leadership, one tends to -always- emerge. Even if not, just knwo what strategy you're running when you go in - on a learning party, it's less about the strategy and more about the execution of the mechanics therein, so just go what's popular at that point (or someone will usually say they're used to / read X)

Its party finder, you set the party however you like. The OP clearly could have created their own party instead of complaining about it. That is just your world server community and how they act. It doesnt mean that the entire ffxiv community as a whole acts that way.

It is because of western culture people have this "attitude". People are too careless. If they mess up and ruin a whole party, they simply don't care, and most don't even care to improve that or any other way. Japanese players (most, not all) actually care first about their own gameplay, it's embarrasing to them and they take it on a more serious way. Because of this, western people already go in a dungeon/trial with the mentality that the rest of the party most likely won't give a flying kweh if they keep failing and not improving and it's not what they're looking for, so they set certain rules in recruitment. The average Japanese player already cares about their personal improvement, so when they join a party, people already expect a higher quality gameplay from them. So many people in western won't learn even if you teach them for hours, tunnelvision players and ignoring everything else. You can even see on OP's screenshot people completely ignore the recruitment and join his/her party that asked for a certain phase knowledge.
Now I'm not saying they're bad players and shouldn't deserve to play. Everyone does, however you (not you, just in general) shouldn't be complaining that people want to prevent what already has been happeing patch after patch, fight after fight, frustration.

Also, people don't stick in a random PF for too long, you most likely will get stuck in a phase wiping and not clearing the trial. You expect someone who already has progressed in the fight to keep making new parties starting from 0 over and over again waiting for the whole server?

I am actually very curious about this.

When I saw that JP player's comments, I didn't take it to mean that NA players are excluding new players when making farms. I took it to mean there just wasn't enough people willing to make mid-progression/early progression groups. He made a comment specifically about being able to find in PF a group for any phase - but the NA servers tend to have three modes;

Learning - Farming - Clear

Clear is final phase only. Farming is knowing everyhting. Learning is everything else. There's no real tiered segregation to the progression to accomadate multiple people, because the people who should be learning in phase X want to join the Clear even if they've never been in, and the people who want to Clear can't get a clear because they're wiping to mechanics back in Phase X when people try to ninja a clear, until they ultimately try to get into farm groups to get their clear.

Some of the responses in this thread surprise me... Even if it's say, the first day of patch, if I've already spent like 5-6 hours progressing to a certain point in the fight, it should be ok to get people with similar exp. I'm up to meteors, I don't want to spend hours wiping to two knights while people learn divebombs and jumps. There's nothing unreasonable about that. It's not about how new the content is, it's how much time you've spent in it. You'll never progress if you have to teach the beginning fight mechanics over and over.

Up until two knights I'd be willing to take anyone, but trying to learn any phase past that it's perfectly reasonable to want people who've been past the two-knight phase.

It's your party finder, sure. But that's quite a disservice to anyone who's just getting home from work or school and wanna learn the fight. This is the exact same thing the JP playerbase was giving the NA players shit for.

No, it is not. As a JP player, this is a lie. Stop trying to sell this anti elitism view, it is not what is killing NA PF.

JP players also did this. The difference is alongside the PFs that say "Phase 5+ progression party" there are also a lot of "Learning from the beginning" parties. And, if you are a repeated offender of faking your progression and wiping actual learning groups with your selfishness, you will be black listed.

Nothing. I didn't say his pf was unreasonable at all, actually. I said that the comments he got were not unreasonable seeing as a lot of people likely hadn't had a chance to attempt let alone progress in the fight. It's not surprising that he'd get some raised eyebrows.

Yes you are right to expect ppl to be at the same level as u but make a static for that not party finder a day into the new content you should have expected this kind of response from ppl...

I got home from work mad cause soon as I updated and logged in all I saw was meteor phase, um this was same day lol I mean give the content a couple of days to breathe before you start expecting to much or make a progression static..I also saw ridiculous ilvls like 208 and 210 like really, now that I've gotten pretty far in the fight u can easily do it in 190 gear -_-

I also had ppl freaking out in void ark cause ppl wiped at the third boss, this is same day so I don't understand the mind set here at all
