    Since she stays in Eorzea and we will meet again it makes sense. Though can't see how a Samurai will wield a spear as a weapon.

    Historically Samurai used spears/Naginatas all the time.

    Gameplay wise, she can just stash it away and rarely/never use one again. Square can just hand her a Katana/Daisho and say she's a samurai.

    That wouldn't stop her from being your trainer. Frey, your Dark Knight Trainer wielded a thaumaturge's wand/staff, despite you know... being a Dark Knight.

    Or... now work with me... Samurai will be the lancer tank Gridania has been desperately needing. You saw she was practically a dragoon with her actions. I can totally see it, Samurai an actual Job instead an Extra Job.
