Well that depends on how the afterlife works maybe....if any X character was to briefly visit Eorzea, I'd call it being either him or Jecht.

But yeah probably gonna be Iroha doing it I guess? I never played XI (atleast if a character from outside Eorzea is doing SAM)

I agree Samurai is most likely a 4.0 class that will be coming to us. In the mean time what about letting us have that naginata she had. Looks much cooler then the goon law one.

If she did become the SAM trainer then her weapon wouldn't matter. Fray is the Dark Knight trainer but uses a staff. The weapons don't have to correspond to the jobs.

Actually, how does this Fray hold the staff? If he holds it anywhere remotely like players do a greatsword then that staff isn't a staff, it's a greatsword that looks like a staff (not unlike the training swords used in Iaido). Just like how the Bard trainer has an Artemis that he keeps folded up in it's harp form. He may be using it as a harp but it's still an Artemis. I'm still hoping for Samurai being a lancer tank. I mean, really, how cool would that be? And it'd be no worse at it as Scholar is at healing (all Scholar gets from arcanist in the way of healing is Physic).

Actually, how does this Fray hold the staff?

It's been a while since I finished the DRK quests, but I thought Fray was generally the healer in your quest fights? I... think he just held it like a white mage stance?

He does. It's upright and held out in front similar to one of the white mage battle poses.

It also bears a resemblance to the crazy looking dryad cane.
