Yes, exclusion is not the way to go about this, but it's the way SE has decided to do it; I'd be much happier if all the sets, Minfillia included, were unisex. Making some of the Scion outfits, which are all slight alterations of generic armor pieces, male-only, and not breaking up the female outfits properly to give the illusion that they're adding more male items than female this patch, are a vain and transparent attempt by SE to 'fix' the problem of unequal glamour items without actually putting any thought or effort into it. There is no reason ANY of the Scion's costumes should be gender locked; none of them are overly masculine or feminine in base design, and if you absolutely HAD to, you could fix any perceived problems by allowing Minfillia's outfit to be dyed anything other than pink (Not that SE has a problem with guys wearing pink...just look at the Bard AF and the shirt level 5 pugilists get) and lengthen Yda's shorts a little bit.

Basic logic and also opening your eyes and looking at the avatars and names of the people complaining would tell you that it's not the same people making the complaints?

Is it at all funny that there were people in the other numerous topics predicted the moment that something was released as Male-specific, that female-avatars would be complaining about it out the wazoo?

Even though the gear is literally just low level gear that we all have access to and you could easily build that look wtih the items in-game?

So yes. To people annoyed by this, I have the same advice for you as you give to anyone else:

    Fantasia -> Male character.
Grats, you can now use Male-specific glamours!

On the one hand, I can understand the complaint. On the other, simply going "we'll add some male genderlocks too" seems a bit like treating the symptom. But then I'm not the one that has to figure out a solution to this mess.
Just wanna point out that there is no mess. SE doesn't owe male players *anything*. Everyone here chose to play the game on their terms, and if they "look into" more male exclusives and just say "nah" then...well, no one is obligated to like it, but no one has a gun to their head to stay here either. All of the exclusivity whining is dumb. I've played games that locked good weapons and armor behind gender and even those didn't get this level of flak.

They need to just make every player look like this

Then no one can whine. Cause ultimately, this is what people want.

His answer to Matt's first question is probably how a lot of people feel.
Bonus points, I actually hung out with him most of that day while he was helping my friends and I with the Odin battle. Pretty cool dude.

    The community asked for this.
People didn't want more male locked items for the sake of more male locked items. We wanted equal treatment, so that females couldn't get locked items without a male counterpart. If there's no pressing reason for any of them to be gender locked, then none of them should be gender locked. If there's a need for one set to be gender locked, then one of each gender should be gender locked. In this case, they seem to have just said "oh, f*** it, just gender lock everything" which isn't something anyone has asked for.

Listen not to be a stick in the mud, though isn't this what people wanted fantasia potions for to change their looks or race?

So why not change to female if you are so dead set on the female clothing, think you changed to the wrong gender if you had no desire to dress in men clothing.
Same for the other way around also.
    Seriously answer that.

I am okay with gender locked gear.

I have no desire to wear woman clothing and hope it stays this way, if I want to wear a bathing suit where it comes with a bra I'll change my race with a fantasia potion but I don't feel the need to do this.

Because people with male characters chose male characters because they want to play male characters. We don't want them to be female. We want the outfit options to be on a male, so that we can actually appreciate the look. If you have to totally destroy the look you're going for, then glamour is a moot point anyway.

And for the most part, we aren't even talking about women's clothing. We're up to what, around 40 or so more female options than male and only like a couple of them are actually women's clothing. Most are stylistically unisex except that SE locked them to only being equippable by females.

Once again, it's not male players complaining. It's players of male characters, many of whom are female. The lack of glamour options for male characters and overabundance of cute and sexy glamour options for female characters is more likely to hurt female players and benefit male players, because they provide more opportunity for eye candy for male players than female players.

You're also wrong to say they don't owe us anything; they're not making this game for fun, they're making it to turn a profit, and we are their customers, therefore they owe us a satisfactory product. We purchased and paid subscription fees for a game which had a 1:1 item ratio for male and female characters at the onset, and minimal differences in how items looked on different genders. After a year of paying for their services, they began introducing services exclusive to one portion of their customers, while not introducing equivalent services for the rest of us, despite our subscription fees being the same. We are no longer receiving the product we were promised, and thus have every right to complain. Or take our money elsewhere, but a good company would surely prefer its customers give it the opportunity to retain our business by fixing those things we're dissatisfied with.

its all aesthetics, so what if i like my male miqo'te? i have been this character since I joined the game and have no desire to change it. why should i have to change my character just because i want to wear and item that males do not get? and I (personally) don't think its people complaining they want to wear a dress. look at any of the threads that were about males getting less gear. it has people complaining that SE is making gear for females and just giving men whatever is unisex. (even giving the male one to females)

back on topic, the gender limitation thing is more then likely a ploy to give off the illusion that SE is trying to put more male glamours out. heck all but minfilia's outfits can easily be replicated on any gender albeit some with DoW/DoM restrictions and some minor differences.
