    According to an evil conspiracy theorist, it's to bloat the inventory artificially so we buy more retainers.

    I don't think it's due to some half-finished project. If they had noticed their original plans didn't work out, they could have just quickly removed all but one prism, changed the allowed range of it to 1-999999 and be done with it. It's not like it's a terrible lot of work or an impossible task.

    unnecassary inventory shortage? No way its real

    The finished ones make a difference, even if its just different mb prices due to supply n demand (some more requested, some less. And you deciding how many of each to make for sales from the same ingredient)!
    The raw ones are pretty much quote, inv bloat. Or placeholders because in theory you will end with 5 spaces for endproducts anyway.
    Long story short, not much harm if they simplified it, probably lower mb prices due to less troublesome supply (watching all the prices alone is a cba task to many ppl)
