Viera can be different from Miqo'te.

That's a matter of down/up scaling armor making small tweaks so it sits on them properly, not completely redesigning the shape entirely.

For Viera, they'd have to add heels and then readjust the entire shape of foot armor to fit the form of their feet unless they just disable visual footwear altogether. In which case they'd have to modify leg armor to look decent without boots to cover up the bottom segments. Gloves would all need to be fingerless if they want to keep the claws. Which are also a defining trait.

The male Viera concept art doesn't look too bad actually. If they did add them (and they were similar to said concept art) I'd probably want the short-ear one more then the long ear one though.

But frankly I am happy they didn't add Viera and so tired of all the threads asking for them. We have cat people and lala, that's good enough for oversexualized and cutesy. If they do add something else it needs to be something more beast tribe-ish or monstrous. Au'ra were a good first attempt but are still just Elezen with horns.

yeah it does! it looks horrid. I rather be something that didn't look like a roger rabbit on steroids.

Also the face on the concept art looks similar to the grinch who stold christmas.

I would love to have Viera in the game. It's possible.

There's a reason why almost any race we get will most likely be humanlike. It would take a lot of time to make armor models for a non-humanlike race. You might be thinking, "Well other MMOs have them, like Wow." Those other MMOs also have waaaay more time between updates. FFXIV's model is faster updates, and in order to do that they need to simplify some design aspects. SE even stated this is why they can't do dungeons like old-school MMOs that people have asked for where they're not so linear and more about exploration, larger, and more to them.

Pretty sure Lalafell are FFXIV's version of dwarves.

Dwarves are more brutish, where as Lala's are more gnomeish.

Also Dwarves are an established FF race appearing in many games.

Might also be a way to bring the "Mech Race" some have asked for.

Actually if you look at vthe profile of aura they have a very dragon/lizard like profile. Least mine does It looks human from the front but look at a side profile they look very dragon/lizard like.

And miqo'te though look human like their face andprofile is very cat like. You see alot of differences between hyur, miqo'te, and Au ra. I could see vira being a race if they use the ff12 look, like a bunny elf chick Tall sleder but rabbit features just....... no fluffy tail or white pompom thing.

Then they could do the same scaling and small tweaks with Viera. It's not really a drastic change. Wearing footwear, it looks like they have normal feet wearing high heels.
Looking at the concept art of Viera in the tactics games, there are some who are wearing full gloves, which is pretty stupid to me but whatever.

I'd be all for Viera, if noly because it'd make my fiance incredibly happy. She's been wanting it for a long time. I wonder how many of these people that "Want a beast-like race" would actually switch to one.... I'm gonna go out on a limb and bet that it'd be a very small portion of them, more likely, SE would make them, and people would complain that it wasn't done right. May as well put Viera in and let those people keep complaining
