There is a difference between "helping others to get rewards" and "helping others to help themselves to get rewards".

In my opinion most of the players start with the mindset to help others, but as the help gets ignored again and again we realise how futile our efforts are.

Imagine how the community would look if the players were willing to learn. You could teach ten players something and then they would be able to teach 10 more players themselves and so on and on till we would catch up with JP community.

If you've ever worked at any busy retail setting in America, you will find yourself slowly losing any goodwill you've had towards your fellow man.

This descent into apathy is hastened further in the Customer Service sections of said jobs.

I worked in the mail department here in the UK and there's a reason they call it going postal. That guy who kept dying in Alex ain't the guy who spat on your grave at work.

I agree its best to be more welcoming to players in raids. I like this policy because I am a friendly person but honestly, even if I was mean, it does not take a genius to understand that the most efficient party is a party with no drama and rage quitting and if I want the raid to go well, I want it to be efficient.

The time it takes to rage on someone could better be spent being helpful and constructive.

It's never going to happen. The NA community will never change. Yes, there are helpful people, but there are tons that are not who will look after themselves. Instead of helping people, they're just brushed off with the "watch a guide" or "git gud" or whatever stupid phrase that people say now. Have fun making a learning party, barely anyone wants to do them and that's mainly why people sneak into farm parties. It's just a big embarrassing mess. In all honesty, sometimes I considering going to the JP community.

Its not a job in customer service in retail. You are playing a game... that right there is the problem with NA players. You insist that if someone slows you down they are hampering your "JOB" of getting "YOUR" gear for "YOURSELF". What I find funny is most of you wiped multiple times and probably struggled. Then a new player comes around and all they see is a bunch of self centered a**hats that want nothing to do with anyone that doesn't meet their standards.

Huh? Why would someone be afraid to say they're new or inexperienced if someone put "Learning/Progression Party" on the PF? or why would they be joining a PF party that is specifically looking for experienced players.

Honestly, saying nothing is worse than saying you're new, inexperienced or still unfamiliar to the fight (as it may make people automatically assume you're just there to be carried). Saying nothing and being the main cause of a party wiping is the quickest way you'll get yourself booted and blacklisted.

That's a bit pessimistic, it's very easy to manipulate small populated servers considering the existence of legitimate parties are non existent in most. You could set up learning parties/ gated communities in these dedicated to hosting certain level of skill to enter PF created duties.

Can see this model working, establishing 1 server with a reputable renown for a good raiding/teaching community and attracting other players to it, leaving the poor minded individuals to leave or stay in diminishing communities.

We currently have the Gilgamesh is most populated, let's flock there mentality and well that's another result.
