If you want to take it slow and easy, consider the gear the rest of your group is wearing. If they can handle big pulls, consider doing so. If they are under geared, then take it slow. It's your job, and quite honestly nothing more annoying than a slow tank.

    For clarification - this doesn't mean that I think it's okay for someone to run ahead of you and pull mobs. The rule of thumb is to follow the pace of the tank, which is determined by the gear that not only the tank is wearing, but the rest of the group.

    TLDR: Geared Group = Big Pulls. Undergeared = Small pulls. Not cool to pull ahead of tank, but if they are that frustrated with your speed you may want to consider why they might be doing so.
