People aren't 'crying', in fact, people have made very reasonable suggestions of how this could be improved. As I've said, it's not 'cosmetic fluff' to some but a very enjoyable aspect of the game that is locked out with real cash.I know damn well that SE listens to feedback (Story mode raid being the prime example, or WAR's revamp). But people crying because they can't have ALL the cosmetic fluff coded into the game is not really constructive feedback. Especially one year after the exact same debate has been done and concluded by a general "meh whatever"
I maintain the belief Sleipnir was put on the cash shop not to necessarily nickel and dime players, but to keep it from being ubiquitous. All the other primal ponies are essentially palette swaps with appropriate elemental design tweaks. Sleipnir, however, is unique. Sure, money likely played a factor considering they would want something exclusive to be made available when they launched the cash shop, but I very much doubt it was their only reason.
Then they could have put a low drop rate and forced synced clears to get it. It's the standard way to make things artificially rare after all.
Technically speaking, giving everyone access to something at the press of a button is not a measure you do because you want to keep that thing rare. As a matter of fact, when you do that, you want it to become the opposite of rare, because the more people buy it, the bigger your profits.
it is *still* cosmetic fluff.
That's not a bad, or even negative way to be. It is just that. Cosmetic fluff.
I know that people love glamour. But would you really want everyone and their mother to look like your character because XX clothes were added and provoke the hype ? See what happened with Lightning's/Snow's clothes, Cloud's outfit, etc...
The thing with glamour is to look unique, not to follow whatever shiny thing provokes the hype. The hype stuff are fine in the cash shop. People will buy them anyway and be happy with their generic things loads of other people have because "look shinies".
The Minfilia outfit is the first one being added in the cash shop. (provided I don't count wedding stuff as there is a free version. Even though the dress is cooler if you pay)
There is an other 2 seated chocobo you can get for free.
Pets are... well, pets. People collecting them all are pissed, but there is the same problem with unobtainable pets like the OST ones, etc...
Sleipnir is just an other pony with some emo side. You have plenty of ponies in the game for free already. This one is just black instead of whatever the primal's element is
the seasonal stuff isn't available anymore anyway.
So the glamour people only miss one outfit (which is just a hype thing anyway), and arguably dyes, if you like metallic looks. Does this REALLY justify such a thread ? Especially when the OP makes baseless statements like this one :
+ bonus points on calling everyone who don't give a damn about the cash shop idiots. It did hurt the game and it din't add anything to it that wouldn't have been there. If the cash shop wasn't there the Odin mount would have been a drop from the fight just like the primal pony mounts. Minions could have been in moogle delivery quest or some sidequests like they usually do, hell even main story rewards. Dyes same, they should have been from retainers too.
That kind of thing makes the game better.
Many people also play horrible games for movile that are filled with micro transaction bs. Doesn't mean it's right. I'm sorry that the small minority is the smart one.

Raids are only "elitist fluff". Let's put it in the cash shop hehe.
If you think that post is a baseless one i'm not the one calling you an idiot. You are.
On top of that it's clearly directed at mobile games and microtransactions taking over the market in video games. Clear examples are games like Assassins creed, MGS5 and the absurd 50$ season pass for games like COD when the game just costed you 70$.
If people like me wouldn't raise their opinion stuff like the Deus EX augmented pre order stuff wouldn't have been taken down.
Oh come on, let's face it, we're going to see people running around left right and centre with the Minfilia outfit regardless. The fact is that Square are adding more and more items to the cash shop that could just be achieved in game.
I guarantee less people would have the outfit if they made it a very hard achievement reward instead of putting it in the cash shop.
I am sorry if anyone already posted this.Hey everyone,
We're fully aware of the situation where we're short on male outfits and discussing with the dev. team. For now, I just wanted to give you all a heads up, and let you know that we're adding not only Minfilia's outfit, but outfits for the following members of Scion at the same time:
- Thancred
- Papalymo
- Urianger
- Yda
- Y'shtola
So hang tight, and keep those great suggestions coming!
EDIT: So you were right OP, as a response to Minfilia gear being released SE got topic with 40 pages of people saying they want Lahabrea, Cid, Heavensward NPCs, Thancred etc.. and that is exactly what we are getting.![]()

So after 3.1 comes out, how long till this argument pops up again?
They tested peoples limit. They saw whales asking for more and they are happy to feed them.
I did see the post and that's one of the main reasons i decided to make this thread.
When we first saw the minfilia outfit during the live letter no one mentioned it would be a cash shop item.
Later when the official translation hit the forums we got information on it being a cash shop item and that more items like that would come and that they din't know the price.
This opens a gate for Sephiroth clothes or stuff like that being in the cash shop.
Remember FF13-2? It had an Assassins creed dress....
