    They probably aren't very conscientious.
    Conscientious people tend to strive to excel at their roles and are less likely to propagate conflict than people who are less conscientious.

    Wiki's entry
    Conscientiousness is the personality trait of being thorough, careful, or vigilant. Conscientiousness implies a desire to do a task well. Conscientious people are efficient and organized as opposed to easy-going and disorderly. They exhibit a tendency to show self-discipline, act dutifully, and aim for achievement; they display planned rather than spontaneous behavior; and they are generally organized and dependable.
    Relationship quality is positively associated with partners' level of conscientiousness, and highly conscientious people are less likely to get divorced. Conscientiousness is associated with lower rates of behavior associated with divorce, such as extramarital affairs, spousal abuse, and alcohol abuse. Conscientious behaviors may have a direct influence on relationship quality, as people low in conscientiousness are less responsible, less responsive to their partners, are more condescending, and less likely to hold back offensive comments. On the other hand, more conscientious people are better at managing conflict and tend to provoke fewer disagreements, perhaps because they elicit less criticism due to their well-controlled and responsible behavior.

    tldr guy did a mini-experiment to see who raged the most relative to who was actually pulling solid dps. Most present demographic was : "16 cases of low-output DPS harassing / calling out the tanks, healers, other DPS randomly because they feel the instance is done "too slow"." where low dps was considered single target under 250 or aoe under 350.
    Maybe I'm just super lucky, but I find the amount of complaining in that post's data to be unbelievably high. No one ever seems to say *anything* when I use the duty finder, except maybe hello and thanks. Though I almost always heal, which could have something to do with it for all I know.

    The only incident I can even remember since HW release (not including PvP anyway) was when, as a black mage, I asked the tank to start using his hate combo after two wipes on Midgardsormr during a high-level roulette. He didn't even respond, our healer got on my case for saying anything, and after the 65-minute mark we vote abandoned. And I'm pretty mellow, it took not doing any DPS whatsoever for 30 seconds and then pulling hate almost immediately once I started for me to say anything. And that was a tank; I can't remember the last time I saw someone actually say anything about a DPS's performance in the duty finder.

    Yes there are some toxic attitudes, recently I have noticed players in my FC complaining a lot about people being toxic to them in dungeons. This has scared many of them from wanting to play certain classes and as healers healing DRK/WARs. This in turn has created a more negative attitude when they run pugs. So as people have been mentioning in these threads treat others as you wish to be treated, therefore if we want to break this trend. When you have some time help out another teach them something new, show them how fun this game can be. I take my FC members out all the time mentoring them about different classes and mechanics. I do this with the community in a whole and spent the last month connecting with the leaders of FCs I have friends with in preparation of airship explorations. We are the community let's work to make it better. ❤️

    I have to disagree with this as we don't deal with absolutes.

    There is a relationship between how much player can take before they become toxic. Better the skill, lesser chances of failing and getting enraged. So bad players with short temper are more prone to become infuriated than good players.

    A lot of players don't seem to have the awareness to realize who is doing well or why things happen. They see something happen and react to it, and most of the time it is to call out someone for something they don't understand. For instance, I join a lot of Ravana and Bismarck pfs out of boredom to help out. I joined a Bismarck the other day and someone called me out of dying a bunch of times only because even with Quelling Strikes up I was pulling off the tank, taking damage, then taking raid-wide damage and the healers were slow to spot heal. Another instance is for Swift Liberation in Ravana. You can take a sword hit, then players with the purple aoe stack in the wrong area, killing you. Then players will point out that you died and not the other. Many players will back up whoever does the calling out to seem....better? Not sure exactly, but it seems to be a thing given the similarity to OP's situation.

    Casual != bad
    Elitist != good

    Some people are misinformed. Some people are jerks. Some people are misinformed jerks and that's all there is to it.

    sorry but I have to disagree with you, Elitists are terrible players. they are most often the ones with the best gear but they didn't get it from anything but being carried. they tend to have the worst attitude and a huge ego. and they also tend to be selfish and unhelpful.

    casual players are not bad as you try to make out. casual does not mean someone who doesn't strive to excel. most of the casual players I have met are only considered so because they have less time to play so they tend to just try not to stress over things.

    do not mistake elitists for hardcore players with good attitudes. elitists are not hardcore players with good attitudes.
    and do not mistake casuals for elitists either.

    For anyone who skipped this link because it was just a link dump post, think about clicking and reading it. The Dunning-Kruger Effect is a documented cognitive bias that perfectly outlines player behavior in MMOs regarding actual and self-perceived skill. The link given is directly relevant to this thread.

    I'm going to make Dunning's quote from the Wikipedia page my sig. It's just that good.

    He said "casual does not equal bad" and "elitist does not equal good". The symbols != mean "not equal", so you in fact agreed with what he said.

    It's funny you say that, cause a lot of people will tell me what my numbers are, but will flake the moment I ask for a screen cap as proof.
    Personal vendetta against the lesser console players?

    Ah man. thanks for the nice laugh.

    I'm a ps4 player, so yeah.
