Honestly, I'd probably go DRK or WAR but I don't really like the aesthetics. They look pretty cool, don't get me wrong, but I'm a sword and shield kind of guy. I don't really like axes and DRK abilities look a bit too 'evil' for the sort of character I want to play. >_>

I have DRK at 60 but can't really get into the gameplay. It's not awful, but I end up running into mana management issues and I find it a little offputting. War was pretty fun at 50 to me already, but I've always just felt more comfortable on paladin so that's what I've stuck with. Thing is, my static has ended up with a PLD/DRK setup which was fine for A1S/A2S but it's crippling us now that we've started A3S. Even worse, we don't have a ninja so tanking in Sword Oath isn't going to work. I barely keep hate off the WHM at times as it is. I've been waiting to see what 3.1 gives us before I decide what to do, but if they seriously aren't going to adjust PLD's DPS capability at all then I don't really have much choice. I can either sit around waiting for our DPS to get more gear or I can be proactive and swap tank classes. At this point I just kinda feel stupid that I haven't done it sooner.

At least the new EX trial will make it so I don't need an eso weapon, I guess. :/

This is something we've been toying with doing, but the fact is that PLD is going to be sub-par in either tank role. I love the class and I want to stick with it, but with no real adjustments coming I don't see how I can justify it when my raid is hurting for DPS.

Gonna be honest, if your raid is hurting for DPS at this point in the game in A3S then it's not a job choice issue. If you switch to DRK/WAR now, that DPS issue will persist in A4S and there won't be any job changing work-arounds. It's better for your group to improve than try and squirt Elmer's glue all over the problem. DRK MT/PLD OT is the best choice for that composition, you'll get higher DPS and DRK won't have any trouble holding aggro. It'll also free up your CDs quite a bit for hand phase, add phase, and the final phase.
