I know right? It's almost like they can make content that isn't about gear, gear and more gear, you know, maybe something that's fun.....well nevermind, MMORPG players these days dislike anything that doesn't handsomely reward you.
...i really dont think people who played ffxi endgame know how important gear upgrades are to current MMO's since they kept their gear for a long time. They could release an extremely hardcore dungeon and it could take months to get the whole thing on farm status and even longer to gear everyone up. After a couple months of farm status and everyone is geared players are going to scream for new content, thus new content and gear is introduced that only people with the current top gear could possibly finish. Trust me you wont miss your old gear and wont be as attached as you were in FFXI. Plus your old gear will be converted to materia either way. If SE does it right you still wont complete your new set of gear for a while.

So you want raids that aren't for gear.
This is a strange world.
What, praytell, would one raid for that's not equipment and treasure?
New dance animations?
Epic cutscenes?
Saving the woodle moogles in the forests and/or baby chocobos?
A new hairstyle? I suppose the save the barber raid would work...
One I can suggest, seriously, is a raid for new classes or job unlocks. That would be very popular.

Oh look another excuse to speculate and QQ wildly.
We have endgame now: WAH WAH It's BORING give us new content!
Yoshi suggests hypothetically maybe planning to consider new tiers of endgame content every three months: WAH WAH I want my darkhold gear to last FOREVER.
You people simply won't allow anything about this game to be good in your eyes, will you?

I'm definitely okay with this. I think XIV has needed a rep system for a long time. Something to gain even when you're not getting the drops.
Exactly. This is the same loaded BS I get during election years from "independent" pollsters that are TOTALLY not associated with the GOP asking me "How would you feel if you knew President Obama fathered an illegitimate child?"OP's post is disingenuous and purposely misleading.
What if I make a pool that says "How would you feel were you to be hit in the head with a baseball every time you watch a ball game" and pretend that the pool is about going to baseball games?
The premise of the OP's pool is not what they are doing or planning to do, it's just what OP (erroneously) understood from Yoshida's post.

eh, endgame equip.
i'm gonna wear what's more beautiful XD
good equip doesn't automatically turn you into a good player.

Yeah, long gone are days of playing games just to have fun, MMOs are all about the gear now it seems, which does explain why people seem to hate MMORPGs with storylines and anything "just for fun" unless it gives them great gear.
Also, no one said anything about a raid not dropping gear, since that would go against the reason to play an MMORPG, right?
Maybe this is why new MMOs suffer, because when people see the word Content they instantly think of raids and how they'll be rewarded and if it's content that goes against it, people cause an uproar. It's almost like they can make content

New endgame every 3 months is crap. :/ How about a REAL end game and then lots and lots of inbetween content? People shouldnt HAVE to be at endgame already (or wait 3 months after patch) to get new stuff or do new content. I'm not even all that into hardcore content and I think this sucks. It sucks for both hardcore and casual players alike. Make some INTERMEDIATE content! And don't make everything obsolete every three months!
