How would you feel about end-game gear only being useful for 3 months?

Yeah, long gone are days of playing games just to have fun, MMOs are all about the gear now it seems, which does explain why people seem to hate MMORPGs with storylines and anything "just for fun" unless it gives them great gear.

Also, no one said anything about a raid not dropping gear, since that would go against the reason to play an MMORPG, right?

It's almost like they can make content

Maybe this is why new MMOs suffer, because when people see the word Content they instantly think of raids and how they'll be rewarded and if it's content that goes against it, people cause an uproar.

New endgame every 3 months is crap. :/ How about a REAL end game and then lots and lots of inbetween content? People shouldnt HAVE to be at endgame already (or wait 3 months after patch) to get new stuff or do new content. I'm not even all that into hardcore content and I think this sucks. It sucks for both hardcore and casual players alike. Make some INTERMEDIATE content! And don't make everything obsolete every three months!

If they do it right they can avoid such issues like say with AF gear, each piece could be obtainable from a different dungeon/NM/event

I have to admit that in WoW that became too much to bear. As soon as you were heroic-raid'd out with the best stuff possible, it was all utter crap a few months later. And, what's the point of having all that amazing gear, anyway? I can do pointless leves even faster?

Regardless, this argument is folly. They've thought it through, and decided that the WoW-type "hardcores get it first and get to think they're cool for a month or two before everyone else gets to look cool too" is just fine.

At least we can change the colors of this stuff, since we will inevitably all look the same.

If only this game had a social function that wasn't killing monsters. If only.

dungeons would have been so much better if they dropped dif color gear with slightly tweaked stats, maybe adjust the drop rate of the colors a little dif from each other.

I wish my scale mail was shiny black.

Yeah, well thats sort of my point. If this game is going to be nothing but instanced raids, I'll quit real fast. I'm already getting bored with it. I get all the latest gear so I can...what? Wait 3 months for another raid just to replace the gear I got 3 months ago? YAWN!! I honestly think we only need so many instanced raids in this game... There's only so many times you can do the same thing (just with a different wallpaper) before you get sick of it. I'd like to see this game have goals that dont necessarily involve gear. Why not...dare I say it...content that I can do for the sake of, I dunno, story??
