How would you feel about end-game gear only being useful for 3 months?

Yes, that is exactly the problem with this post. Now you are all fired up about it, but it is NOT what it is happening, it's just what OP THOUGHT would happen based on his misunderstanding.

Because your post is just like those political message that play to people's emotion but has no ground in reality. You are acting like asking a purely theoretical question, but leading people to think you are asking about specific action SE is taking regarding FFXIV. As a result people are not answering your literal question but the underlaying message, which is not valid to begin with.

It's like someone posting on a forum discussing death penalty asking "What would you feel if the government drag you out the bed in the middle of the night and execute you?" Well, it sucks, of course, but it has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the topic of discussion on the forum.

I asked a one line question. Don't try to turn it into something it's not just because the answers to it do not follow what you agree with. It's ONE LINE. People on this forum are smart enough to read a ONE LINE question and answer it with their opinion. I'm not going to debate this further because you are doing exactly what I specifically requested not be done, and trying to pull the thread off topic.

Nothing of this has to do with my idea or my beliefs. Two topics on the subject got closed. I thought it was an interesting topic that has a serious effect on the game. So I created a thread that was intended to have no debate or drama, and just people's opinions on the QUESTION.

I've reported your posts and Currahee's post. And will not be fueling your continued efforts to derail/troll/diminish or whatever you are trying to accomplish in this thread. In other words I will not respond to you. and continue to report any of your posts that attempt to personally attack me by claiming I'm doing anything more than asking a question, or try to derail the thread and turn it into a flame war about what people's interpretation's of Yoshida's post is.

if they nerf the difficulty they should nerf the gear(reskin with lower stats) imo. I dont mind if they change things, but dont straight out say were making it easier so everyone can do it.

I think it sucks that I can't get into a Darkhold raid because I don't have a R50 archer or mage. Currently my r50 lancer is gathering dust while I level archer up as quickly as possible just so i can get a spot.

So for 2 months i've been on the side lines not getting any of that neat gear. But if in October they reduced the difficulty of darkhold so that maybe 4 players could clear it, OR adjust so melee is openly welcomed to join why not? All those "elitists" who said "Gla con con con arc arc arc arc only" had 3 months to enjoy their stuff.

I think if they either build raids with ALL jobs in mind or go back and reduce the difficulty every so often so that smaller or more varied groups can clear content the better.

You are either naive and has no understanding to the consequence of your own action or just pretend to be. No one except maybe social researcher ask a question and expect people to just answer it and nothing more. Your question is misleading people into thinking SE is doing something they are not and incite their emotion regarding a choice that is not a valid scenario.

If what you are asking is purely theoretical and not based on any SE's activity / plan regarding FFXIV, you should state that clearly in the OP that what you are asking is only your own idea and has nothing to do with current situation, but obviously you did not.

GOD! Your gear that you invested all your time in won't become yesterdays news!

end game /cap gear will be balanced within themselves.

that means that awesome sword you got from what ever boss drop, will be balanced with other rare/ex swords of similar level.
Your not gonna get a R50 weapon from a raid in 1.19 and it to be completely outclassed with another R50 weapon in patch 1.20 Those two weapons will be so similar in function that it won't really matter which you use. The latter will just be more prestigious than the former because it's new and more difficult to obtain.

It has no effect on the game because it is not based on reality and is not a valid question. It's based on misunderstanding of Yoshida's post. Which is also why other similar posts got closed: because they deserve to.

our party beat bat yesterday with all DD no archers and 2 con, so....

ps we would take you being a lancer in a second, its a very good calls to have in dungeon.

I personally don't care either way. I have every single item from DH and will do so for any future content, I absolutely do not care if my item become obsolete or not. The problem is the post is not valid because it is not based on reality, and it is misleading others to think that it is.
