How would you feel about end-game gear only being useful for 3 months?

Just want to point out a few things.

1.
The fact that people actually tried to personally attack me over a topic asking people to -only- post an opinion really says something about this forum.

2. at the moment about 5 times as many people would hate the system rather than love it

So please if you want to debate the issue or personally attack -anyone- go make another thread

One, i never claimed anywhere that anyone said this would happen. I simply made a post asking a question
Two, the hate love thing wasn't my idea
Three, If gear is easy to obtain after 3 months then either: 1. gear is obsolete quickly with new gear being released. or 2. after 3 months everyone has the best gear for a year or 2 until new gear is released. There isn't an alternative. If gear is easily obtained after 3 months then either everyone will have the best gear except in the 3-months after new patches, or gear will be continuously replaced every 3-5 months to give "hardcore" players a chance to be elite.

And lastly, why are you causing drama, if you don't agree with the post or don't like the post, don't try to run it off topic. Either post on-topic (which is a simple answer to a question) or make a new thread on the issue.

Because your post is just like those political message that play to people's emotion but has no ground in reality. You are acting like asking a purely theoretical question, but leading people to think you are asking about specific action SE is taking regarding FFXIV. As a result people are not answering your literal question but the underlaying message, which is not valid to begin with.

It's like someone posting on a forum discussing death penalty asking "What would you feel if the government drag you out the bed in the middle of the night and execute you?" Well, it sucks, of course, but it has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the topic of discussion on the forum.

I asked a one line question. Don't try to turn it into something it's not just because the answers to it do not follow what you agree with. It's ONE LINE. People on this forum are smart enough to read a ONE LINE question and answer it with their opinion. I'm not going to debate this further because you are doing exactly what I specifically requested not be done, and trying to pull the thread off topic.

Nothing of this has to do with my idea or my beliefs. Two topics on the subject got closed. I thought it was an interesting topic that has a serious effect on the game. So I created a thread that was intended to have no debate or drama, and just people's opinions on the QUESTION.

I've reported your posts and Currahee's post. And will not be fueling your continued efforts to derail/troll/diminish or whatever you are trying to accomplish in this thread. In other words I will not respond to you. and continue to report any of your posts that attempt to personally attack me by claiming I'm doing anything more than asking a question, or try to derail the thread and turn it into a flame war about what people's interpretation's of Yoshida's post is.

This thread is asking a simple question. All I asked is people answer it and NOTHING MORE. If you don't like the question, don't post and ignore the thread.

I don't know if I agree with you or not, and I don't really care. I will just get anything new that will be implemented and that's it.

It has no effect on the game because it is not based on reality and is not a valid question. It's based on misunderstanding of Yoshida's post. Which is also why other similar posts got closed: because they deserve to.
