    Thordan already exists, meaning we get no new trials unless they're hiding something which I do doubt. There are plenty of trials that they could make an extreme form of, Hildibrand, Steps of Faith, The Chrysalis, etc. but they couldn't for whatever reason. I'll have to assume it's due to airship exploration, due to airship exploration the relic has been pushed back, we've lost a dungeon and lost one original hard mode trial + an extreme version. I hope it's worth it and not "The Hunt 3.1 edition".

    If by endgame you're meaning an expectation of Savage mode type of content there, I think you're going to be sorely disappointed. It really does seem like it'll be grind-central for catch up gear acquisition and glamour, along with the insanely small potential for BiS equipment based on RNG for killing the more difficult mobs of the area. Pretty much Hunt mobs but full time and potential gear/item drops instead of seals/tomes.

    Good point. The problem is, even I am not sure how big it will be. I tried to look at it in terms of numbers as that is at least an objective way to compare patches.

    We can compare the number of normal and hard dungeons, hard an extreme trials, and reputation faction.

    It gets tricky with airship exploration and Lords of Verminion as they can't be comared to ninjas or housing because the same people are likely not responsible for creating them and we cannot see how many development time each feature necessitates.

    Again, Island Exploration, if you have been paying attention to the information, instead of 3 dungeons, the development spent on that 3rd dungeon is being shifted into Island exploration. It's honestly ignorant to say we are losing content when that's far from the case, if anything we're being given something with more substance compared to dungeons that just turn into a drone activity a few weeks in because it's always the same thing. At least Island Exploration gives the opportunity for a more open ended experience which will hope to wet the appetites of those looking for a more open ended dungeon experience.

    I'm talking about stuff to do involving killing monsters with level 60 characters.

    I don't craft.
    I don't gather.
    I don't Pokemon.
    I don't Gold Saucer.
    I don't PvP.

    I know, I'm a minority. Doesn't stop me from telling people what I want out of a game.

    Then I would think the airship content would be appealing for you. It's not like you need to have an FC to do it, though I don't know if there are perks to having one. It appears to be content to just kill mobs, with some mechanics that'll require a bit of attention, I'm sure... at least for the harder ones.

    Well some of the patches that gave us two hard mode dungeons (and thereby made extreme roulette more bearable) gave us stuff like PVP, housing, treasure hunts, hunts and new classes. These cannot be measured against each other for reasons I mentioned elsewhere.

    The patch is packed with stuff that cannot be objectively measured against similar features in other patches and seemingly (I repeat: seemingly) falls behind on the number of easily measureable content. Hence my question wether it will be big or not.

    I don't think I am ignorant for believing this, but feal free to prove me wrong.
