Is 3.1 going to be big or not?

This might sounds like a stupid question, but listen. It's really important. And one that has been bugging me for quite some time now. On the one hand we will get several new and interesting new features, but if we look at the numbers AGLSGD seemingly falls behind every main patch.

It will be big because:

- Exploration missions
- Lords of Verminion
- Two other MGS mini games
- Vanu beast tribe quests
- New side quest line
- New Dungeon
- New Hard mode dungeon
- New Extreme Trial
- New Alliance Raid
- New hairstyles
- New TT cards
- More mounts learn to fly

BUUUUT

We were supposed to get two hard mode dungeons. In fact every patch had two hard mode dungeons added.

A similarly unprecedented change is the apparent lack of trials. Of course we have Thordan, but we need a hard mode trial. Every patch that added to the main scenario added a trial as a final fight. Hell 2.5 and 2.55 both had one. So what now? Is it something ultra secret like Nabriales? We already know about the WoD.

And of course the Arboretum's descrition makes it sound like a side dugeon independent from the main scenario, like Pharos Sirius or Lost City of Amdapor.

So what do you all think? Will it be mindblowingly large or unprecedentedly small?

It depends on what you as a player likes to do, the more different things in the game you enjoy doing the bigger it feels, this patch is the same thing.

According to the devs there are only 2 dungeons because there's a new type of PvE:

And Thordan is harder than Alex savage floor 1, according to the devs. Edit: thought you were complaining that Thordan wasn't hard enough but then realized that you were referring to the lack of another trial. I probably shouldn't post when it's past midnight lol.

Too tired to look up the source. To me it seems like the same amount of PvE as usual, but not sure about the fluff content.

Makes sense I guess. Although 2.1 gave us one dungeon, two hard mode dungeons. one raid, one normal trial and four extreme trials. Granted all that is a little extreme.

Like I said it sounds massive from one angle and seems lacking from another.

It's still too soon to say, maybe there will be a storyline trial; afterall, Chrysallis was never included in any of the previews until was saw the patch notes when servers went down.

Dont forget the FF11 event that'll take place, too.

Other than that, it's fair bit of content available. We'll see how Skyhunts turn out

The three tiers of Airship Exploration are replacing one expert level dungeon. They decreased the number of dungeons in order to free up resources so that they could create a wider variety of content.

Unknown, but possible. Battle on the Big Bridge came pretty much out of the blue during the release of 2.2.

Which was normal. Snowcloak and Keeper of the Lake were the only dungeons among the 15 2.X dungeons required for the post-50 main story.

So what do you all think? Will it be mindblowingly large or unprecedentedly small?

I suspect that some people are underestimating the amount of content being added.
