Please hide blacklisted player's character

I would report, except the issue is I don't think he did anything that would be deemed reportable. Basically, we had a roleplay going and he chose to emote spam or toss out abilities just to be a nuisance.

Report them and let the GM figure it out. Just explain what you're seeing and why it's a problem and let them do their jobs.

You see this a lot. People take to the forums to complain about other people breaking the TOS or harassment but they're not even attempting to go through the process and letting the system work. The GM team exists, I've talked to several of them when I've had problems with other players, but they can't help you if you don't submit a ticket to them. GMs can't be everywhere and they can't see everything themselves. You have to tell them when you're having a problem with another player, especially when the in-game tools you have aren't enough to make that problem go away.

I had someone that was bothering me, and just generally made me uncomfortable. They had a harassing attitude, but once I blist them obviously i no longer had to deal with any messages, or emotes. Now this person doesn't actually follow me around or anything like that. But they do similar things that i do, like farming DoL red scrips, and doing alex. So I always see their character standing around. It still makes me feel uncomfortable. You could argue its on me, sense they don't go out of there way to stand on top of me, or anything like that. But it still makes me feel uneasy seeing them. So I would support this.

I did find a way to kinda make them disappear, and that's to remove the name plates from the UI. But unfortunately they have a distinct look. So I can still spot them. So for me being able to make them disappear off my game would be a boon. I wish I never met the person I wouldn't be worried about them. But because I endured their harassment, and it made me feel this way, now anytime I see them I get anxiety. It's only this one person.

Yeah you can report people, we get that, I'm not sure why you would be AGAINST this though, like seriously, c'mon now people.

Because youre just asking for too much at that point, while it'd be convenient to be able to do so, some of us are realist and realize that it'd be more of a pain to do this than it's worth, personally if any QoL or content patches were delayed because because of something like this i'd be pissed.

People need to grow thicker skins rather than be babied by everything nowadays, if you can't stand someone on the internet saying some dumb shiz on a chat channel I couldn't imagine how much harder irl is when you actually have to HEAR those people speak.

Would be hilarious if the BL'd player ends up in a DF/PF with you and you can't see each other.

Otherwise, this would be useful for when those harrassing you are hanging and afking in and in front of your house

Yeah, some people even spam emotes to look like their being sexual, and it's not the emote TEXT that's the only bothersome thing then, it's the very character emoting, the only way to avoid seeing the character is to run away and they can follow, if you're trying to do something in that zone, and someone is stalking you and harrassing you visually, isn't that just as bad? Or maybe they have a character voice that you find annoying on that emote as well, and that just makes it worse.

There are a host of logistical game design reasons why this won't happen but I think the obvious has already been stated, if you haven't notified the GM of a person harassing you then you aren't doing everything in your ability to make sure they stop.

I also would like to not see the player names on my blacklist, especially I blacklist incredibly rude player names that the devs don't think are rude apparently >.>.

Hate to break it to you but both Eorzea and the real world isn't always going to remain the classiest of places. People have different tastes and just blocking them 'out of sight, out of mind' tends to be considered really hard headed on your part. You should be a bit more accepting, even if you don't agree on a personal level.

First, what is being requested is likely technically impossible. To make one character disappear from just your view. Even if it is possible, what a waste of development time. I see a lot of the typical Millennial generation in here. Easily offended, and very self absorbed. One guy above talks about feeling "uncomfortable" just seeing a persons character on the screen, so he wants changes. Really? You get that uncomfortable over a video game character with a certain name? I do NOT condone harassment by any means, but some of these replies are just ridiculously hyper sensitive in nature, and points to some of the problems in our society right now. Constantly offended or outraged about something, constantly demanding change in the name of offence or inequality. Blacklist the people and then move on. Stop sitting around focusing on them. People talk about someone following them - even if they do who cares? If they are interfering with your play then report them and go elsewhere or just log out for an hour...Chances are you log in you wont see them again. Ive had people be douche bags to me too but it lasts a few minutes, you eventually get away from them and then its over....No need to make an issue out of it, or to ask SE to send the design team in to iron all the bumps out of the road for my fragile state of mind.

I like you, but it's not really all millenials. I'm 23 years old and I only see these attitudes on the internet, for some reason hiding behind a computer screen empowers people to demand everything they deem offensive and make everything all about themselves while hiding behind the excuse of it being the "rightgeous" thing to do, in person I hardly see these things happen, but then again I'm around people who speak their minds but at the same time know that they may get slapped around for having a stupid idea and wont cry about it, I grew up with family who doesn't take BS was raised by a mom who'd beat me up if I did something stupid lol

Some people just haven't had the chance to realize life isnt all about themselves, not everybody in life CAN win unless they make it happen, standing around waiting for society to bend to you isn't going to happen, basically stop complaining about other people, realize they ain't going away and carry on
