It's funny how many people say gf when OP did say it was his sister.

Oh, if it was his sister then yeah, he should have just ignored her plea for help. Duty Finder family> Blood Family.
Came here to say this and not add to the real discussion at all:
With the amount of people fighting back in forth in this topic, I guess this makes it a true MMO.
Is every English people always silent on beginning and not even type hello or something? Because at JP even you do repetitive DF like Garuda HM for Nexus, they always say よろしくお願いします or with auto-translate <Let's do it!> and after battle they say おつかれさまでした or <Good Game!> (Maybe different culture? But I want to know)
I can tell you coming from a shitty community (league of legends) that your response is the problem not what happened earlier at the boss. Just explain to them what happened. Most people have lives they'll understand.
There is so much wrong with this that I'm just going to consider you a troll. Real life comes first whens it comes to helping people, mistakes happen in MMO's, people need to learn to get over it. When I get a phonecall thats important, I stop playing so all my attention is given to the call. Players would ask "wth dude" or something of that nature and I would say, "sorry, important phonecall." As we can see the OP had an obvious bad day and responded with a idgaf. Yeah, bad move as it made him look like a jerk with an attitude, as if we all didn't have those days. tbh, both parties seemed edgy, one saying idgaf and the other calling them a liar and not caring for their reasons. All could've been easily avoided if they were simply ignored the rude responses like adults. Everyone here saying the OP is wrong is only partially right because just about everyone here thinks the OP is wrong for defending his right to help someone irl while he's playing a game. Everyone who thinks he's right to do so is wrong as he didn't know he made a mistake until after the fact, and when things hyped up as the offended tank called him a liar in retort, the OP gave a rude retort back when he simply should've ignored it.
Long story short, your all being immature and unreasonable, like most of the community. -_-
I always say hello :X Being met with complete silence annoys me to no end, and I'll generally leave the dungeon without giving a commendation. I know that's a bit petty, but I'm not an NPC, and if they can't manage at least a simple "hi" or a wave, I don't feel they deserve it. :XIs every English people always silent on beginning and not even type hello or something? I love blanket statements as next as the next person, but this is just silly. Plenty of decent replies in here.

Hmmm, decent replies? You mean like:
Or:Or: Yeah no, theres alot of comments here just barrading the OP just for fun. Here's a quote everyoe should read over again just so this post is buried (Or hopefully removed since the problems been resolved 4 pages ago):
This thread is interesting. OP already admitted where he/she went wrong in the original post then again in a separate post, yet responses constantly try to get on that mistake like he/she doesn't know that the particular part of the response was a mistake. Then it seems some try to rank the value of him/her helping his/her sister vs helping people beat a dungeon boss, which makes it all the more interesting when the boss can be beaten right after a wipe with no penalty outside of some minutes, while the consequences for being late can be much more significant. Then we have some trying to blame the sister for needing help, as if OP should prioritize beating the boss over helping his family. Really?......Really?
Interesting.
It's literally the third post though. It's in the original story unedited, then OP acknowledges his/her mistake again on the first page. That's not "buried a few pages from nowhere." This means people are reading the original story halfway and posting for possibly a couple reasons:
1. They want to get upvotes ( the psychological "game" of any forum in general, feeling good about posting/saying something people agree with)
2. They want to feel good about correcting someone/ potentially imparting knowledge, which is interesting given the core of what they wanted to impart (how to speak to someone) was already essentially imparted within the original story, with the acknowledgement of the mistake in the quoted response the OP gave in that story.
