it gwets the point acroos not to OP but to other players. Not 1 person was nasty to the OP which was shocking. My comment was to comments about what i saoid about real life matters more. Which is right to a point. I was just stated the huge dif between actual family/life issues vs trivial ones.
Given that its buried a few pages from nowhere, if he doesnt want this to keep popping up, he should probably quote that post in the OP. Don't know why more people dont do that
They appear to be new to the forums, so I'm sure editing the OP with this info is not something they thought to do.
Not a true mmo until you encounter someone that believes they are the victim of poor etiquette, when their own actions are the instigator of such circumstances.
Perhaps invest in a keyboard. I think there's also a speech to text function on the PS4 as well, i'm not sure i don't have mine on. Either way, you can get a cheapo usb keyboard for like 10-20 dollars, and if you're running out of USB ports, you can buy a usb hub for like 5-10 dollars.
Also, when people barge in when i'm in the middle of a boss fight, i make them wait, or at the very least i will continue to fight while talking to them.
This thread is interesting. OP already admitted where he/she went wrong in the original post then again in a separate post, yet responses constantly try to get on that mistake like he/she doesn't know that the particular part of the response was a mistake. Then it seems some try to rank the value of him/her helping his/her sister vs helping people beat a dungeon boss, which makes it all the more interesting when the boss can be beaten right after a wipe with no penalty outside of some minutes, while the consequences for being late can be much more significant. Then we have some trying to blame the sister for needing help, as if OP should prioritize beating the boss over helping his family. Really?......Really?
Interesting.
It's literally the third post though. It's in the original story unedited, then OP acknowledges his/her mistake again on the first page. That's not "buried a few pages from nowhere." This means people are reading the original story halfway and posting for possibly a couple reasons:
1. They want to get upvotes ( the psychological "game" of any forum in general, feeling good about posting/saying something people agree with)
2. They want to feel good about correcting someone/ potentially imparting knowledge, which is interesting given the core of what they wanted to impart (how to speak to someone) was already essentially imparted within the original story, with the acknowledgement of the mistake in the quoted response the OP gave in that story.

This is what I use to type on my PS4. Connects to the Bluetooth of the PS4 perfectly fine and works like a charm, also relatively cheap. Also makes entering PSN codes so much easier: http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Scul.../dp/B009KG9K74Perhaps invest in a keyboard. The sum of all hunt arguments over early pullers: http://goo.gl/IFT9IE
You should never afk during a boss fight unless it's an emergency. Yes irl > game, especially when it comes to family and loved ones, but you're playing an MMO. You can't just up and leave a boss fight unless it's truly an emergency. If you have to for any reason, you should be really apologetic, and the worst part of the whole thing is your response to having done so. Most people in my experience will understand if it was an emergency, but you should never do that and then tell people you don't give a ****.@azura Yeah I was a dick when I said that. but I was going to apologize. I'm not going to cover myself and blame others. I clearly afk during the boss, for RL reasons, but I still left. i was willing to confess. but the fact that I was 1) called a liar and 2) interrupted was clearly unnecessary are rude. So I returned the favor.
Also it will save you headaches in the future - if your girlfriend is not a gamer and doesn't really appreciate that you can't leave the game for a 2-3 minute stretch on occasion - don't play around the times she is getting ready to leave. In fact, best advice is not to enter an instance anyway in the 20-30 minutes before she is getting ready to leave because you'd probably want to be saying goodbye and/or do something like help her find her keys anyway - but that kind of goes beyond the scope of the topic.

You shouldn't play unless you have someone physically with you and skilled enough to take your spot. Even then they should only be called upon for emergencies. Like when your blood loss starts to effect your in game performance. Even after the swap you should return to game and apologize for the horrible scars your absence caused those who matter most to you. These are the F'ing warriors of light! Your GF should have quit her job and joined in the fight to save the world of Eorzea!
Having said all that, yeah you had a good reason to leave the keyboard, though some notice and a polite response would have been the better way to go.
