I have 8 crafts at 50. All I did was watch T.V. and spam standard for easy mode synths. Enjoy leveling those crafts in 1.19 and beyond everyone!

All for continuously progressing and strengthening our characters... so would love it... rather then the alternative, having to wait for a xpac! Should always be stronger equipment beyond your grasp^^

i'll tell u what i was royally pissed off when abyssea/magians was released and i watched all my gear go down the toilet ie Heca set/Ridill/Kenkonken and many other things. If SE ever pulls that crap in ff14 ill just quit and play console rpgs only.
It'd be nice to have one group of developers working on these constant dungeons things if Yoshi decides to impliment them, then another group of developers making the expansion pack.
As it is, that's probably how they do things anyways.
Not to throw a needle into a straw hat stack, but this is another possibility as to why S.E are hiring 11 people to help work on FFXIV.
This happens in most MMO's, when expansions or new content come out, some new gear will be released that will render your current gear obsolete. You just got to then work on getting the next set of gear. This is how you progress, 'cos staying in the same old gear... you may as well wear a nerfhat.

I dunno.
I...I've never gotten to an endgame scenario in an MMO before...
to a point, i still had hq artifacts that were better to wear then new ones. i made many hq aritifacts then i would redo the quests for the nq ones again so i can just toss the nq set back to npc lol. only mmo i play where gear die out completly like this would be warhammer, swaping out sets as i level up, didn't like it that much. just vendor the old lol. This happens in most MMO's, when expansions or new content come out, some new gear will be released that will render your current gear obsolete. also lets not forget something no one has mentioned yet but just dungeon type endgames ...just pushed this game into clicks-vill. linkshells are meaningless outside of a place to form exp grinds and statics to grab a pug or 2 when they need them. i hated this type of gameplay for dungeons in warhammer.

I would be pissed if gear will become obsolete in 3 moths. Btw, since yoshi dind' stated any of that, but talked of another thing, i'll just wait the second patch with endgame content to judge :||

He said it was just a scenario. Its not set in concrete that every 3 months, past encounters will be made easier for those up and coming in adventurer ranks. It'll probably be just like with FFXI: After a certain amount of time (could even be up to a couple years...maybe more), certain events/dungeon battles/bosses/missions etc. will be adjusted or made easier/a little more fair. This happened with FFXI and the removal of level caps for Chains of Promathia missions, and I believe for some of the normal missions and quests...even some of the notorious monsters or burning circle notorious monsters (arena bosses).
Its really not that big of a deal, and its something that happens naturally in most MMORPGs from what I understand, prime example being from XI. Again, think about the Summoner avatar quests. At first they required a full party of high level adventurers to come together and beat down Ifrit/Shiva/Titan/Garuda/etc. Now players have the option of taking on a reduced level quest solo for basically the same outcome (aside from some weapons/items not being available from what I remember). Since its late, i'm working from memory, so please correct me if i'm wrong.
On the subject of equipment...there is the problem of everyone either wanting to wear the same item through the rest of the game, or constantly going after something new. A balance should be struck between the two, where some items never lose their usefulness (staple items if you will), yet you always have something better to aim for at some point.
