I sure hope not, it would just tell me that their story writing team can't stick to anything they write.

Isn't more like "Good morning"?
Really? I think it would be wonderful. <3
And why would it not be sticking t anything they write?
We have an example of something similar to this happen with Tiamat and Bahamut. >w>
Someone either didn't do or didn't pay attention to the 50-60 SMN quests.
Ascians can possess dead bodies to take form in our world
So no, not something that would be bad writing, it would stick to the lore
After all...we never did see him buried...
as if that's gonna stop them.
If this really happens though. It'll be awesome. Because the Ascians are gonna be playing mind games all day long![]()
He could be summoned as the primal Ixion as many fans already have discussed, it would be interesting!

Faker than fake.
Though I do see Lahabrea's crest there. I was far more traumatized by his death than Haurche's and wouldn't mind him coming back to pester me some more.

I dunno, it may be a little cliche, but a grieving parent making a terrible choice in the heat of the moment that comes back to bite them is a fantasy storytelling staple.
I think there's even a trope for it called Came Back Wrong.
With this character's death, the thread of prophecy remains intact.
