He could always come back as a guiding spirit, like A-Towa-Cant, without actually being reanimated.
well all i can say the symbol is deffinitly mateus/lahabreas
There is no coincidence only Fate

But how could he be summoned as Ixion, though (it also wouldn't be him at all)?
They discussed it on this thread http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...rchefant+ixion
Basically a bunch of prayers and aether, like with tiamat/bahamut the dragon
It's an interesting read, nothing but fan theories though - but man imagine how cool it would be!

I don't think it'd be cool at all. Maybe it's just me. As much as I like Haurchefant, I think he should stay dead. They discussed it on this thread http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...rchefant+ixion

Just because I don't think people fully understand what the photoshops would mean in lore, going back to the MSQ and 50-60 SMN quests...
The Ascians can inhabit bodies. We know they can living (Thancrid wishes we'd forget that), but they can also possess the dead. A lesser Ascian reanimates Kahedin, Tristan's long dead Tempered brother to do their bidding. We also learn that if the Ascian himself were to be killed he could possess a nearby dead body and continue on.
Haucherfaunt wouldn't be brought back to life one bit. No, his body would just be used as a puppet by an Ascian to demoralize and conquer the WoL

And that is exactly what makes these screens so wonderful...but - quoting a friend here - also impossible to be real, because SE doesn't do such subtle and clever storytelling.
I disagree, but even I think it's a bit too dark for the usual storytelling direction of SE in the last few FF years .-.

The biggest "fake" clue to me is that the screenshots are clearly taken in different screen resolutions. Look at the copyright notices in the corner. The font is smaller on the first one.
