FFXIV 2nd expansion: Viera-like race still a possibility?

Au ra are in no way beastial.

They were meant to be, then changed. That said, what's the difference between a miqo'te/au ra and beast tribe race? You guys want something original but yet all you want is beast tribe that looks just like miqo'te/au ra but with an animal face and more fur/animal skin.

Actually, the devs have stated that for gear reasons, we'll never get these either (because digitigrade feet, requiring all-new leg/foot armor).

Exactly. The dudes look tough and all, and they're a tad closer due to their massive horns and whatnot, but they're hardly "beastial". Ghastly seems to really like this idea of the Au Ra being tough and beast like, but also says the girl's are super feminine and look really cutesy, but that doesn't invalidate

Yep, and that's another issue with the Viera, they either remove part of what makes them somewhat unique looking (Their weird feet and heels and their long nails/fingers) or hey forgo on their "no digitigrade feet" rule to make modified versions of foot gear that look all Viera-esque. Given the concept art, it would seem like they wanted to retain the weird feet, but then were reminded of the burder of having to remodel every foot gear in game (That gets a bit funny when they didn't even do that for the Au Ra and the Evening Star set. Same old weird tailboner that the Miqo'te have).
