I just came out of a run of Brayflox's Longstop with a godawful tank while leveling AST. He was as squishy as hell. As in 'I barely have time to Draw' and 'The DPS are less squishy then you!' We muddled through anyway, but the final straw came when we reached the last boss. The tank refused to move Altair out of the poison pools. Then, on the way back, he pulled without waiting up for me (I was AFK for a minute 'cause my phone rang) resulting in another wipe. For the first time *ever*, I initiated a vote kick, which promptly went through.

On that note, however, the SMN in the party was several kinds of awesome. He helped with the healing after the tank died on four different pulls before the last boss. And when we noted how we could be waiting for a replacement tank for a while, I proposed he try having Titan tank, using Place to move Altair, since at this point the Egi would be a better tank then the one we just dismissed. We gave it a shot, and while I screwed up towards the end causing Titan to die and leaving the NIN to tank, we still managed to down the boss. I still can't believe it worked. The SMN earned the comm, needless to say.

A DRK actually came in while we were fighting, and the NIN told her to just sit back and relax. She earned a good laugh from the whole situation.

I was put with a healer who liked to play "how low can you go" with my HP and I must have wiped about five times..

Well, it's not bad if healer knows what they're doing. Not in your case apparently, but even if you dps you can get some mixed feelings towards you in the end. Like in my story a couple of pages ago, I even decided to make a signature out of it to remind people what happens when you dps as a healer.

I don't mind a DPSing healer - it shows you're actually bothering instead of sitting around until you're absolutely needed - but I get irritated at the ones who keep letting my HP dip extremely low. Even if I don't wipe, I find it stressful, especially on heavy trash mobs where it's going down fairly quickly. I'd rather be able to concentrate on holding aggro than having to constantly keep a wary eye out in case things go awry.

I find the Vault a bit hard to heal in general. Especially on the last boss if people are not staying in the center to break the chains more easily. Then I'm running around, trying to break the chain and dodge knights and cast heals all at the same time.

One time not too long ago in a roulette I got blessed with a Stone Vigil HM run with a very intoxicated Tank.
It was pure hell but probably my favourite dungeon run ever.

The whole run started with the tank running away before I got to buff any of the party members, which somehow ended up with us having a long congaline filled with death because someone managed to lure the huge group of monsters to the starting point and whenever one of us revived they would instantly slaughter us.

Eventually we managed to kill them all, but what followed was the most chaotic dungeon run ever that took well over 45min to complete.
I wish I could remember all the details, but I only remember it being a living hell and utterly hilarious.

The Tank kept talking during the whole run too and I managed to save some of the more fun parts of it.

In span of 5 minutes, I had the worst tank you could possibly imagine. No shield oath, didn't flash and we wiped because ya know, I don't have the defense of a tank. Our monk had to tell them to turn on Shield Oath, but no flash = Elathia is going to die, and folks, she sure did die.

So us three are thinking what to do with this tank that is just standing there at the entrance, doing nothing. I initiated a vote kick(first time). Unfortunately, we didn't get a replacement. A shame really, I had liked those two, and one of them is on my server.

I don't care if anyone reads it, I'll just contribute to the rants to get this off my chest.

In Titan Extreme, I was healing while keeping DoTs on Titan. (is it just me or do healers rarely cast their DoTs on bosses?) The other healer was casually casting a heal from what I saw. Never bothered to rez anyone. From my point of view just being lazy and just surviving on his/her own.
While I got out of my way to keep everyone topped. In the last few seconds I did end up dying while the other healer was happily running around when titan went down.

Guess who got all the praise?...

That's why I don't come as healer for 8 person trials, nor do MSQ roulette.

I posted more detailed stories in the GD thread about duty finder woes, but here's the gist of my struggles

1. Tank was a gladiator in Dzemael darkhold in sub level 20 gear. He would die in two hits. He didn't realize he wasn't a Paladin until after the fact.

2. Summoner never used ruin, ever, not once. I asked him to and he didn't, so i had to pick up the dps. He criticized my healing because i wasn't instantly dispelling everything and left. Meanwhile the ninja was literally falling asleep at the keyboard.

3. After HW launch, i was leveling an astrologian, i was doing SV and i had a DRK tank and two MCH dps. The tank could not hold aggro or take a hit to save his life, and the DPS were doing next to no damage. I was running out of MP in the middle of the first pull and we wiped. I told them that it wasn't possible if we couldn't survive the first pull, wished them well, and left.
