I generally let people play how they want to. I already spend long times in the queue anyway, so I'll take what I can get; I just like running content, especially dungeons.

This is why I do four man dungeons with complete strangers. You are almost never bored.
There's an enormous difference between a PLD using Clemency (5000+ HP restored per cast; if you're STR specced and well geared it can easily crit for over 9k) and a DPS class using Cure/Physick (500-600 HP restored per cast and that's on a SMN/BLM) though, both in heal efficiency and DPS efficiency. I've made more than a few strategic saves with Clemency in almost all content up to and including A2S.
If we go in a premade, the healers always get them so the DPS and the OT can just stay wrecking the boss.
When I queue Scholar for A4 in DF, I just adlo spam myself and eat orbs unless people insist on getting hit with splash damage.

I'm lvl 60 WHM and AST; WHM probably for 6-8 months and AST since HW. I think I can count on one hand how many times that has happened to me, and I think it's honestly once and it was in one of the level 50 HM dungeons. It's more annoying because each Physik restores hardly anything, less than the damage they were taking standing there spamming it, where one Cure II of mine did more than all his combined. That was the only time it happened though. I definitely like to keep everyone topped off though. Not to the point that I over heal or anything. Just keep in mind that sometimes it's okay to let the tank or whoever drop to low HP while we pop a cooldown and spam Holy, as keep in mind we have Benediction to bring you back to 100% HP with about 1 second needed, in addition to Tetra as well. That one time though was only surprising since it was level 50 so thought people would know better. Just have to let them die once though and they learn to trust the healer. Just keep in mind that as a dps you basically get the lowest priority as a dead DPS is easier to raise and get back into battle than a dead tank, so tank gets priority as well as other healer as a dead healer or tank usually really throws off the balance. A healer is there to heal though, so while your HP might look low, we have our eye on it and are watching it.

Your key to getting people to trust the healer is -to let them die-
You're doing it wrong, buddy.
You've been lvl 60 on WHM for 6-8 months now? °-°
Teach me, master! xD
Not necessarily. If you tell people to trust you but they refuse to do so and want to rely on their own heals, you wouldn't believe how fast they start listening when you actually tell them "okay, go on, keep yourself alive, I'm not gonna bother" and they die and die and die with their 200 HP heal. Suddenly they realize "Oh hey, the healer actually IS better at keeping me alive, who'd have thought?!"![]()
Whenever I'm on my non-whm classes before they get their job, I find it helpful to take cure and protect to aleviate some of the workload from the healer. Sure we may be taking your job, but please do realise we're only trying to be helpful lowbies. :3 As a main-WHM I appreciate the assistance from everyone.
Don't think it an insult nor a waste of time, think it a compliment and a breather.Especially if they're really low-leveled and don't have the gear to produce adequate DPS.
