Reflecting on Ercapote's points:

I'm pretty sure Xatsh means that the content is short-lived as in, you blow through it a few times and then there's no further incentive to do it. You already have people hitting i210, what do they have to look forward to in terms of endgame for the next five months? Pretty much nothing. Gear also does not affect your playstyle, as secondary stats have very little meaning these days beyond hitting accuracy cap and having enough of your favourite stat to let you do your job efficiently. If there were skill bonuses and skill points like you have for PvP skills, that might go a long way to alleviate the playstyle diversity problem (even if people would definitely come up with "optimal" setups very quickly, it'd add to the fun of customising your character for people who don't care about theorycrafting and minmaxing).

3.1 with Void Ark and airship exploration will help, but for those who do endgame it'll only be something to do for fun and to gear secondary jobs. Which I suppose is fine, all content can't be meant for raiders anyway. I just hope that the Void Ark doesn't become the repetitive mess that WoD was. The best 24-man raid is still Labyrinth of the Ancients because it required actual teamwork, albeit at a basic level.

And story is not solo endgame, not at all. You do the story to get to the endgame, but once you're there 100% of it is group activities. This is a multiplayer game, so that's cool, but when DF doesn't pop and your FC is mostly logged off you get stuck pretty quickly since there's very little to do on your own.
