As someone else who plays with fibromyalgia (though years of gaming has made it bearable to play with it), I would suggest trying out a controller because there's far less strain on your hands and wrists compared to stretching every which way on a keyboard. I use a ps4 controller for this game barely get any discomfort even after a long session of play. Controller players can play essentially every class with some practice and eventually things will become muscle memory so there'll be less for you to actively remember doing. I would also recommend bard as a class for you to try and eventually branch out to things like machinist or black mage.

BLM has infinite sustainability (lol umbral ice), a rotation that involves a lot of using the same skill in sequence, and doesn't have positionals for any fights.

As far as "easiness" is concerned, all jobs are pretty much the same once muscle memory and defined habits set in, IMO.

I've played all of the DPS to 50 and beyond except ninja and machinist (39 for those two). Out of all the DPS, BLM is the one that is so easy I have literally fallen asleep in dungeons playing it. But, to play it right it has a set rotation that isn't flexible. Bard is easy enough at 50 that you don't have to worry about messing up a set rotation if you use one skill instead of another. With monk, you do have set rotations that require a bit of concentration.

Bard is still one of the easiest to play. The rotation of blm is fairly simple but their are other components to the class that make it more involved then playing Bard.
Ninja is fairly simple as well and is rather fun, at least to me. Dragoon and Monk i would say are more involved as would be summoner (if we are talking optimal rotations here)
Also perhaps a tank class may suit you? While i have yet to level warrior just maybe that could be another potential.
I do wish you all the best in your journey

Just some thoughts for you to consider.
My fibromyalgia is all over. Although, I am aiming for an easy pace. I don't do twitch well. I'm more of shake and quiver guy.

Great question! I like to pull my weight, Lyrica. So, I'm thinking like 75%ish but it's unlikely I'll ever be pushing cutting edge content. I'm way too laid back for that.

Hmm... *adds bard to the list* To tell you the truth, I was interested in Bard but the threads about how they are broken scared me off.

I have to laugh because I do have a tank! She's a gladiator/marauder and she is a joy to play but I haven't made the step into dungeons yet. *scared*

I tanked as a prot warrior and a blood death knight in WoW for 4 yrs. Players are mean to tanks and I'm not ready to be beat up again if I go a bit slow at times.

Well wishes to you on your journey as well!

Off topic: I enjoy healing also! Being a White Mage has been great. It's just that sometimes I'd rather kick butt than heal butt, you know what I mean?

Honestly don't let that be a deterrent. You really have to try it first, since opinions are all over the place.

BRD/MCH aren't broken, they just play very differently after level 52. To people who were doing BRD before heavensward, it's a pretty substantial change, and that's where the "my job is broken" refrain comes from.

Well, since I'll be new to the job it won't affect me.

If you're comfortable with MNK right now I'd stick with it. As others have said the "rotation" if you can call it that isn't long at all, and unlike other jobs you very rarely have to think ahead too much. Few seconds of downtime? 1-2-3, all important buffs/dots are up again. Because of the form system it's hard to be penalised (outside of losing Greased Lightning). Other melees have to go through full combos just to get stuff back up, so again - GL aside - it's rather forgiving and straightforward in knowing what attacks to use when. Also generally, MNK doesn't have to think about off GCDs - just pop them when they come up (as opposed to like, Duality and Life Surge etc). NIN is actually quite similar to MNK, they have the same # of core single target GCDs, only they have to be combo'd - plus you have ninjutsu to keep an eye on on the side.

As someone else said BRD/MCH are more quick-thinking and reaction speed than rotations, with BRD being the easier one imo. My tl;dr opinion though - stick with MNK if you enjoy it, give BRD or maybe MCH a whirl if you want to try something else

Your advice is appreciated. Monk seems the best choice for me and I really like playing them.
