Subscriber - "House Removal" - "Work Schedules"&"Rare Furniture"

    Hello All.

I'm a subscriber/supporter of FFXIV, I'm here since 1.0. I almost never missed my subscription (only 1 time). I'm here to express my opinion on a issue:

    House Removals
"42 days". I think its fine for people that are "inactive" from the game with no subscription. I pay the game, I should get the benefits I think?

    Rare Furnitures
How is this not resolved yet?
    http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...=1#post2797609
Is it to hard to bind on account/state owner/FC Leader?

    Conclusion
I work for 2 months with no internet. When I return, I wouldn't feel like playing because my house was demolished and lost all my rare furniture.

    Solutions
1- Give my login to a friend, but that would be violation of ToS.
2- SE can remove the restriction from "subscribers".
3- SE can keep "how it is", but we get everything (rare items).

    Sorry for long post.

SE is planning on implementing a House Sharing feature which would allow you to invite 5 other players to share your personal property. Currently the info regarding the Inactivity Timer that was released says that the Personal Housing the owner has to enter their home 1 time every 45 days. I'm actually wondering if this rule will change when they release House Sharing. It would make more sense that, when using this feature, anyone who enters the house can reset the timer; similar to how it's going to work for FC's.

If they do make that a reality it would likely put players who have to leave for extended periods of time at ease with the new Timer since someone can utilize their Stable/Garden/House etc. while they are gone.

I feel that this is a fair point, maybe I'm a little surprised that people who are paying a subscription can still lose a plot.

The people who really should be kicked are the ones who are both inactive and not paying a subscription, since that's just resources spent on non-players who are paying nothing.

Just like a FC member can reset the timer for an FC, 1 of the 5 people you set permissions to can do this. (for a personal house) Obviously much easier of a suggestion then "undo everything you've done." Honestly do people even think when they suggest someone else to give up everything they've probably worked on for the past several months. Especially before it have even been implemented...

that's not a long post, and yes it's awful that they would take houses away from people who are still paying their subs.

hopefully the Sharing feature will help but i wouldn't count on it.

The concern here is they haven't actually said this yet. At the current moment though that's applicable for FC housing the notes say only the "Owner" can reset the personal housing, not co-owners. I think once people see tmen clarify or add "co-owners" can reset it won't be quite as much as a issue.

Considering a personal house is the same as an FC house (same cost, same plots of land), when house sharing comes out, I'd _expect_ that anyone sharing the house could keep that counter from hitting 45... but I don't have too high of an opinion of SE when it comes to making decisions like this. They'll likely make the actual owner have to access it to keep it open.

And, IMO... 45 days is a fine amount of time. And if I read the House Reclamation notice properly, if you let it expire, you get back 80% of the property value.

A lot of people will likely let it expire just to get their gil back.

45 days is fine.... until your console or computer breaks down and oops, now there's no reason to even bother coming back to the game.

    Horrible idea is horrible.

Or your in the service like my friend in the reserves and he is gone for months at a time.. He also still pays for the game and does not cancel his subscription but now will loose his house.
My girlfriend also owns a house and leaves for a month at a time for personal reasons and here first thought before leaving and coming back is OMG I need to click on my house or I will loose it.

There's two simple fixes and one difficult fix SE needs to do for this house removal plan to work.

    1) Get rid of this stupid rule about destroying rare furnishings when they're removed. If there were any valid reason for it in the first place, I might say to just make house reclamation an exception to it, but all other housing items become bound and untradeable when placed, so that already takes care of ensuring rarity. There's no additional benefit in destroying the item when removed. Let the owner place, remove, and rearrange to their heart's content. Then that will also take care of ensuring those rare items aren't lost when a house plot is reclaimed (or at least it will if #2 is also fixed).

    2) Once a house has been deemed inactive for too long (the timing of which I may have a bit of a quibble over, but that's of only minor significance) and the plot is reclaimed for use by other players, there is no longer any limited resource being tied up by having items available through the Resident Caretaker. That storage should be permanent, lasting as long as our characters themselves, so players who come back months or years later can still access everything. This 35 day limit before the caretaker destroys all our valued furnishings (and gil) is reprehensible.

Then, of course, we get to the elephant in the room:
    3) They need enough houses for all active players and FCs to have one. That's been needed all along, loudly demanded all along, and this reclamation plan only adds to the reasons it's necessary. It's not ameliorating the problem; it's intensifying it. If they're going to take away a house we spent months trying to earn in the first place, they need to make it possible to replace that house once we get back. So far, after nearly two years of demands they fix this glaring problem, they've never even acknowledged it or indicated any interest in doing anything about it.

(I don't count adding a couple more wards or adding subdivisions as addressing it. If anything, that only proves they have no concept of what the problem is. Going from half of one percent to one percent does nothing to help the other 99. We don't need a few more wards or a few more houses. We need an entirely redesigned system that's set up to handle their entire playerbase.)

They should be able to easily fix #1 and #2, and if they would even acknowledge the issue for #3 and give us some assurance that a fix is coming for it eventually, then 1 and 2 would be enough to buy them some time for working on the bigger problem. But people aren't going to accept having their homes taken away like that if there's no anticipation of ever getting a replacement.
