If you cant be bothered to log in for 2 seconds every 40 days then you dont need a house. 2 year customer or not.

If u want a house so bad, and fast, u could move/create ur char in a server who still have free plots, like Goblin for example... but noone can force u to do it cuz u... as client, can decide when and where you want to play.... if i want to take a break for 50 days thats my desition and i should not be punish for that (even more if i am still paying suscription but not logging).

I am just saying than 45 days off is not, from my experience, a player who actually left the game necesarily, and those are the ones who are provoking the lack of plots on many servers (ppl who havent log/pay suscription for several months)

BTW almost ALL MMO are promoting/offering stuff to players to return, refunding only 80% of the gil and making ppl lose the expensive items is not a good welcome for returning players... just saying

If you're not there, why should someone else who is, not have the property and USE it? And I've been a customer since OB of 1.0, played through ALL the craziness, paid when people lost their minds, flamed SE for paying for a broken game etc. Soooo ... your point is? O.o For right now, this is a temporary but NEEDED solution. As Sinister said, if you can't log in for 2 seconds and bail for the next 30 days or so, then you don't need that house or property. I play and others play daily or close to it. We aren't bandwagon players who roll through new content and then sit on our hands crying on the forums about lack of content and rinse repeat. We pay and we play.

So, is it now better to just leave your house be if you want to get rid of it, because you get the gil back? Or are they going to make it so that you get the same amount of gil back if you demolish it anyway?

The most expensive small plot of land on the most expensive servers cost 5 million before devaluation. You get 4 million back should you leave it to rot, minus all the shiny stuff you placed in there but haven't as much as cast a glance at them for 45 days straight. If you foresee yourself logging on once every 90 days then I suggest you sell that house. Who knows you might even make a profit!

If you bought the most expensive 87.5mil large house on the most expensive plot for personal purposes, then you stand to lose 17.5mil. Dafuq are you doing with a large personal house? Collecting dust bunnies?

There are players (and more importantly, FCs) who have the money and have the passion to start their own homes and maintain it, as well as making full use of the benefits that come with it. And you sit there logging in once a month using the word 'Punish' as an excuse to keep your house which you barely even touch.

There's limited space and housing is a premium. Now it's not a question of who was there first, but rather of who is more active.

I dunno... I feel like this is pretty fair. Housing is in such high demand that I'm not really surprised they're taking a harsher stand on it and it's not like it'll happen without warning. Plus with the demand so high they have to put prioritization SOMEWHERE and it's unfortunately going to be to the people consistently subscribed, always. That's the way these things work, man.

I've been debating this for I think literal months at this point, sorry. I'll post when and how I can, and I'm still amazed(not really, to be honest) at how naive some people seem to be in thinking that this will change anything other than SE's income, but don't expect the majority to grasp what you're talking about. My only hope at this point is that is backfires in SE's face, when people who are burned out and tired want to quit playing and paying but feel tied to the game, or in a half a year or so when people are still complaining about not having a house because this didn't add any extra housing.

They aren't being naive, they're being receptive of an implementation that directly affects them, good for them. Some of the people that have been clamoring for housing will get their chance at it. They'll be competing against droves of other players to get a house the moment it's demolished, and those who have set their alarm clocks for 45 days after the server reset of 3.1 (I don't doubt this will happen, if you think getting a house after this will be easy, you haven't prepared enough aside from amassing gil) will finally get their house. The housing problem persists, but they've joined the few. It's no more than a step forward, but at the very least, abandoned plots will be refreshed. As long as housing fails to encompass 100% of the player base, it hasn't been properly implemented.

Why do other people have to move a server because you and others like you can't be bothered to be in game? Paying or not, and I get and understand your point but, if you pay, you should be playing. AND if you are unable to actually play, it takes 2 mins at most to log in at your house and reset the timer. Is that too much work to do for you? To understand some people who play didn't have the gil to purchase at the ridiculous prices that housing started at? A lot of us. myself included were told personal housing was not going to be anywhere NEAR the cost of FC housing and that was a lie. I could have bought a medium FC plot a few weeks prior to the sale of personal housing for 2 mil. But I didn't because I was in an FC already and I was told not to worry. BAM! Release and that same plot was now 20 mil!

And this isn't true. A lot of players have what they have in housing just like the do in gear as a "status" or "Epeen" need. They may have great gear built are carried through the content and suck at their jobs. They have a crap ton of gil for whatever reason, legit or not and they bought a mansion day one and don't use it. it has 3 pieces of furniture that their retainers brought and they can't sell.

Just quit your complaining and freaking log in. if not, sell your house and move on. Then you don't have to worry about it. FFS.

I think SE should add an option to just sell their house for 80% out right for those who just want to get rid of the house without waiting.
