Why would a mice race not be the shortest race?
Plus, at that height they would be smaller Miqo'te with mouse ears and the bottom heavy part makes me think of Micky Mouse even more, with his rubber hose proportions.

I really hope that SE implements this Viera race, I like them. I don't think it would hurt anyone if we get them.
If one doesn't like it then simply don't make one. I love cutesy characters, that is why I (and you) play Asian games.
If one doesn't like cutesy races, than this game (and most other Asian games) is perhaps not for you.
I would change/make a Viera in a heartbeat.

Yeah, honestly I wouldn't mind going without any new hairstyles for a few patches if it just meant some additional things being added to the current races, at least to get them to Midlander dude's standard.. And like hopefully those additions would be more than just "This new face is a tiny bit thinner than the previous ones for the girl's of this race!" and added something a bit more drastic and different. Like, I think it'd be pretty hilarious and great if the Lalafell got an "Old" option like how the Elezen dudes have, especially if it was given to Papashan or something too. Or maybe a more "Pretty" face for Roegadyn dudes, just to mix things up a bit.
I mean, and I'm sure that's why a good bit of these threads do initially pop up, to garner support from that main demographic, but I can't help but feel like they're not so keen on the other demographics getting pandered to instead of them for a change.. :\
Typecasting all games made in Asia as games with only "cutesy races" is kinda stereotyping don't you think? I mean, the various races like the Qu or Burmecians in ff9 weren't all that cute (Or if we wanna talk FF12, then the Bangaa certainly weren't cute! ..Shame a girl Bangaa never joined your party in the game). Don't forget stuff like the games Fromsoft makes. I definitely don't play "Asian" games for the cutesy races though.
It's kinda a poor business strategy and not a good sign for a community if the answer that people from another demographic asking for something get is "Maybe you should play a different game". I mean, if the roles were reversed, wouldn't you hope the main demographic was sympathetic to you instead of giving a "Try to find another game, because I would love this being added"?
I'm a giant dragon and heretic sympathizer and I love character customization
See my thread about equalizing the heights for men and women of each race! http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/253435-A-suggestion-regarding-height.
I would rather have them add more faces and customization options to already existing races then add another new race.
I bet more people would like to further change and customize their current race then have to agree on one race to be added.
I can understand where you are coming from. But I said "most" Asian games, because most Asian games tend to have at least 1 cutesy race among all the races available if not more.

Whether one likes it or not this is a proven fact, 8 out of 10 Asian games that are out there have cutesy and or beastlike races.
I personally don't mind "another" cutesy race, I wouldn't mind another Roegadyn race either. I mean the more races we have the better.
I would personally love to have a race like the Firrans in ArcheAge. I would love to have something similar to Panther and Lupus races from Bless Online as well, they look very beastlike, fierce and tall. Love their full body fur.
Also, the Aman race from Tera Online was awesome too, wouldn't mind something similar as that either, to name a few.
My last comment was meant for people that come here and try to get away with every excuse to make a developer not implement cutesy race just because they don't like it. I can understand that you (or others) don't like it, but there are plenty of other people who do like it and the more races we have the broader audience a game will attract, which in my book is always a good thing.
For me personally there are 4 major things that a game attracks me:
1: Races (if I don't like any of the available races within a game, I simply don't play it)
2: Mounts + Pets
3: Lore
4: Lot's of PvE environment
If I have issues with one of the 4 above or I don't like it, I mostly tend to not play the game.

Bunny girls aren't my thing for sure, but I like cat girls and dragon girls for sure. I wouldn't play a Viera but I wouldn't mind if they add it.
I wouldn't mind a beast-like race. ( Maybe w/ a human / human-like body so they don't have to do much changes to gear? ) I'd love to have variety.
BANGAAS BANGAAS BANGAAAAS
Uh, what? I play JRPGs because Japan puts out some of the best RPGs, or did I forget about some cute bunny race in Dark Souls? If you mean MMOs only, then no. I try to actively avoid anything that's been made in an asian country until late impressions are out, asians MMOs tend to be absolute garbage 99% of the time. If you're playing this game only for the cute things, then this is the wrong game for you, not the other way around. There are plenty of games that cater to cute needs thousands of times better than FFXIV ever will.
rather have something not humonoid
