Player-avatar similarities

I generally make characters based on whatever appeals to me more in a game, but I tend to avoid very tall or bulky races. Unless I think they are cool like Charr in GW2, and with that said I only find myself able to play Miqo'te male or female, or as a male Lalafell in this game. But my characters really don't look like me, but sometimes a few are based off characters from my own stories I have wonderering around in my head. If not that, I try to make a character with some thought about in their backround history. But I am a 5'9" white male, mid-build with brown hair/eyes...average looking. ;p

My character has the same gender, build, skin colour, eye colour (excluding the limbal rings) haircolour (the white highlights are there because I have started going grey irl, I am only 22 T^T) and hair style (if do the plait at the back) as I do. :P I don't have nearly as many scales though irl.
When I was a Miqo'te, I had the same height, but Au Ra are too short :<
I have glasses, but I hardly ever glamour them on.

Yeah, no, i'd hate to be staring at the back of my own head all day. If anything, my characters sometimes resemble what i would like to look like.

I'm the same. There are usually some details I can relate to in my characters, for example the broad shoulders, low gentle voice, female gender and strong jaw of my Roe. I pick the rest of the features based on what I find good looking in a fantasy setting. They can be the complete opposite of my real life appearance like the fact that all my toons have cold/ligth colouring despite me rocking yellow/brown shades irl.

As a side note, I *never* play humans. Ever.

My main in EQ2 was Tier'dal(dark elf) and my other main was Arasai(evil fairy), while my main in wow is Draenei(kind of looks like a devil, goat hoof feet, horns on head... Males kinda got Klingon foreheads instead of horns) and I normally play Khajiit in Elder Scrolls(outside ESO, found a game I can make hot guys in, woo!).

No, but seriously, height is a huge part of how we experience everyday life. So it totally makes sense to be uncomfortable with having to look up to everyone or have trouble reaching something when you are used to be taller than everyone else in RL.

Weird. I'm well above average height IRL, (6'6") And I like playing lalafells and short races just to be short. Being short is rad. You don't stand out in a crowd and people don't assume you're important or cool.

I am quite the opposite
I do RP and too lazy to create a mirror of myself in other race, and seemingly most MMO design their outfit base on Human model
FFXIV Is a exception, I choose Miqo'te over Hyre highly becoz the lore behind keeper of the moon

Well as someone who is small in rl, I agree with the above statement xD
But really, I can only speak from experience. I tried to play as a really pretty Elezen lady before. NOT looking up to others felt SO unnatural and weird and I dropped the race within two days.
