Player-avatar similarities

So I wanted to get a general census from the community here.

How many of you have characters that bear resemblance to you Irl?

Meaning Same gender, same skin color, maybe even same hair color, etc

I have only known of two people that had characters like this.
For those that do, do you actually enjoy it?
As a male player, I have played female characters my entire 2 years playing the game, with the majority being a female lalafell (only changed to au ra recently, but am going back to being a lala soon)

I loved being a female lala, I loved being the cute little badass knight but as weird as it sounds, lately as I have been getting to know more people from the game outside of the game, whether it be social media or skype, I have been feeling weird about being a female lalafell (which sparked my first change to au ra). I hate being Au Ra and am changing back today but for some reason I feel like it would be less weird if I became a male lala with darker skin and hair like myself. Im pretty torn honestly. It also doesnt help that I have a lot of female only glamour items.

In other games I'd maybe try and create myself, but with Final Fantasy I love the whole fantasy aspect and would rather run around with my horns and purple eyes than an attempted copy of myself. I still play a female, because I like having the pretty and elegant outfits. My character also has pale skin like me, but other than that she is completely different.

Honestly, play whatever you feel comfortable playing. You have so much to choose from! Also remember that it's a fantasy game and you can play whatever character design you like.

Pretty sure we might be from the same litter too. Mom had a lot of kits.

[EDIT] In all seriousness, I only share a couple similarities with my character. We're both female, I have somewhat of a baby-face, I'm about as pale as my character, and our bangs are about the same length. My hair color is blonde (dyed dark red), green eyes, I'm 5'7" (tall), I wear glasses, and our bust sizes are total opposites.

No, my characters look nothing like me. I've personally never liked the idea of trying to replicate myself in games; I like to use my imagination as much as possible.

I'm not too big on customizing the characters themselves, so I just stick with my usual formula of black hair, blue eyes, and clicking start. Oh yeah, and light skin. I forgot I'm actually a Duskwight.

Character's name is my irl name and the character himself is a tiny version of me. I've considered going Hyur, but I love lalafell too much to change - especially being a tiny axe wielding tank.

In XI I tried to match my character up to myself as much as possible, and that was my original plan for XIV too, but I ended up having too much fun in character creation tweaking and trying out everything that I think there were just too many interesting choices for me to stick to that. She ended up looking nothing like me, and still doesn't.

Um besides skin color (and that's stretching it to be honest) there's nothing similar between me and my character, visual wise

okay to answer the question better even in games where I make female avatars I never make them look like myself (example: new Pokemon, Animal Crossing). My looks are plain-ish and I play games for the escapism, so personally, why would I want to make something that looks like IRL me?
